KDF46E2000 I'm having the same issue with my Sony LCD KDF46E2000 (only had it for 18 months). After about 10 minutes, the tv just shuts itself off and the stand by light blinks. Looks like a defect in Sony's product. There must be some kind of law against them selling defective TVs.

How much was the lamp? I'm having the same thing happen. My is a wega 60in, it just started. It will be on for couple hrs and then off and on a few times and then it's fine.

if it blinks red, the # of blinks = error code

if it blinks green and comes back up, you need a new lamp

I had a similar problem with my Phillips 42 in. LCD HD TV.

Here's the problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened my TV up(warranty was up of course) and found several bad capacitors. Phillips and several other companies were sold capacitors that although were highly rated failed within 5 years because of a lack of preservatives. All sorts of electronic equipment is now being effected due to these defective capacitors.
Solutions?
1. Take it in and have it fixed
2. Open it up, check the board for faulty capacitors(bulged or leaking) Buy a new Power supply board and install it.
3. Remove PSB, remove faulty capacitors and replace with compatible new ones.

Hope this helps

My 15 month Celcus LCD423D913FHD tv will not turn on. The standby light is lit and will flicker but will not power up the tv. What is the likely problem?

Fault with its main board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ . In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

Sony Dlp, 46" shuts off, cools off, then turns

This is probably a heat issue (assuming you aren't the one turning off the TV and aren't having regular power failures). This TV has two fans to help keep the components cool; if the temperature increases, the TV will shut down to protect those components. Also check if the ventilation slots are blocked and clean the dust off them. (When you have the TV open, you can blow out dust as well - much like dust removal for a desktop CPU.)

For replacement fans, you can go here: http://www.partstore.com/Model/Sony/Sony/KDF46E2000.aspx .

I hope this helps.

Need to replace lamp in my sony kdf46e2000 lcd projection tv.

If you've never replaced the lamp http://www.discount-merchant.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=kdf46e2000 but if you have and it still cycles off, it's most probable that you have a bad ballast which needs to be replaced :)

Sony KDF-E50A10 50 in. HDTV stays on for 25 - 30 minutes then shuts off by itself power stand by light flashes green and turns back on in about 20 seconds by itself. can you help?

Hi, Lamp of TV getting weaker and requires replacement. This shut off by itself will increase day by day until you put new lamp in TV. Always Buy Sony original lamp and avoid aftermarket/ cheap lamp for TV safety.

KDF-46E2000 turns off then back on by its self

* Most common would be a couple of capacitors in the power supply that are not letting the proper voltage to the lamp.
* The lamp itself is not working properly.
