I cannot operate my hitachi 1.5 ton split ac with my remote. I have to switch it ON or OFF directly from the main switch. My remote batteries are new ones. Can u tell me what is the solution?

Did you figure out why the ac wasn't responding to the remote? I am having the same problem. I just cleaned out the filters but it's still not responding to the remote. I have already tried reset button in the remote, which didn't help. I am pretty sure that the remote is not out of battery.

I was told the same thing that Dennis has posted by the guy who came to service the AC. So I think, it is ok as long as it blinks 9 times in a row and then repeats it after a brief pause.

Its very simple to remove that red light glowing on the AC, just switch-off your AC with your remote, but don't turn off the switch that resides with in the plug, remove filters wash gently and dry under shade and place them again in the AC, now keep it without turning-off the switch for 30-60minutes this is called stand by mode. Now take the remote open the panel and press the button that is situated in 4th row and 3rd column. By doing this the red light will be turned off and enjoy your AC.

this problem arises when u disturbe the remote settings. to make it operate again use the following procedure
1.on the power from stablizer
2.press the button in remote with 'key' sign once
3.now adjust the number displayed in remote 9 99 to 3 25 by using 'down '(temp adjustment button) key.
4.press again the button with 'key' sign
5.now ur ac is reinstate

You have a ton and 1/2 split that's running all the time and problems with the remote?I am sure you have changed batteries if it has them. I would shut it off at the breaker until you can have the remote checked out or replaced. I know this would be a pain, to do, but you may have to until the remote is working right. Good Luck

Check the fuse on the control board inside the head unit,if its ok you need to replace the contrl board
