Question about RIM BlackBerry Pearl Smartphone

1 Answer

Incoming callers on speakerphone

Every time i answer the phone, the caller is on speakerphone for about 5 seconds. After 5 seconds then it goes normal, I just returned my 1st phone for doing this, they said it was a defect. but now i've had this new phone for about 2 weeks and it started doing the same thing again!

I have EXACTLY the same problem with my BB 8110 going on speaker phone for approx the first 2 seconds of an incoming call. I tried the suggested solution of removing the battery and holding the power on button for 10 secs. Seems to have worked. Yay!

the phone will ring sometimes, and when i answer its on speaker phone! not always but sometimes, and its very very annoying especially when i am at school in the library in the computer lab and everyone looks at me and hears whatever the person is saying!
also, sometimes i don't receive texts, texts get deleted, call log gets deleted even before i see my missed calls! i have had this phone for less than a month and i hate it already!

maybe check on the ringer type for restricted numbers- you can change ringers by all calls, restricted calls, and caller id numbers. your incoming restricted numbers is probably set at none or silent

LG KU990 Caller ID

  • If you answer the call, the number (or number and name) stays on the display until either you or the caller hangs up.
  • If you do not answer the call, most display units keep a record of the calls received, including the phone number (or number and name), date, and time.
  • If the letter P, priv, private, or a similar term appears, the caller may have blocked the display of his or her number.
  • If the letter O, ????, out of area, or a similar message appears, the caller either is in an area that does not support Caller ID or has placed the call using operator assistance.
  • Caller ID comes with Anonymous Call Rejection, which, when active, allows you to reject calls from callers who block their number. Your phone does not ring, and the caller hears a message saying blocked calls will not go through.
    • To turn on Anonymous Call Rejection, press
      *77 on a touch-tone phone (or dial 1177 on a rotary phone)
    • To turn off this service, press
      *87 on a touch-tone phone (or dial 1187 on a rotary phone)

Cannot hear incoming call or caller cannot hear me

First check and adjust call volume. It should set be optimal and secondly during a call adjust the microphone volume. If this is ok and the problem exsist then the microphone, speaker or some other hardware need to be replaced. Contact local hardware expert.
