I had the same problem. Turned out to be so simple. Look down at the machine. On the right is the green spiral to indicate the wheels are turning. Right above that is a cover that can be popped off to allow access to a small filter. If the filter is blocked, air intake is blocked, and the brushes will not turn. Mine was clogged. Took the 2 seconds to remove the material and the machine was fixed!

SOURCE: Hoover Steam Vac Spin Scrub Carpet Cleaner won't suck

my f5809 2-3 yrs old just started not sucking the water up (wouldn't yu know it after i just lent it to my mother in law) i went over to look at it and found the rubber gasket in the recovery tank between where the water comes up and into the lid had @1/4 " piece torn out. i stuck a piese of newspaper (tempory patch) between the gasket and lid, locking the 'patch' in place and it sucks again. i found this site while looking for a replacement gasket. maybe you have the same problem

SOURCE: Hoover steam carpet cleaner brushes dont spin

There is a plastic cover over the spinner indicator. If you take the plastic cover off there is also a little filter in that area (almost like the spinner is on the floor and the filter is on the wall). If you clean this filter it may start working again. I had the same problem before and it worked for me. I found the info in the user's manual for my model. Hope this works for you as well.

SOURCE: the brush won't spin on my hoover shampooer

This machine has an airdriven turbine that drives the brushes. The turbine needs to be replace because it is spinning on a steel bushing which gets rusty from all the water going through it.

I have a hoover floor mate hard floor cleaner and the brushes won't spin

Hi, it's Jeremy from Crucial Vacuum.

In the link below you will find the user manual for your Hoover Floor Mate vacuum:
http://hoover.com/file/597/

Here are a few repair tips to make fixing your vacuum easy. Your Hoover brush-roll is connected to the motor by two different sized geared belts. Over time, the belt's gears wear down and stretch out losing the grooves and tension that turn the roller. When this happens you will simply have to attach a new set of belts. Another reason why your brush is not spinning could be that there is debris stuck in the roller and/or bearings. You can either use a can of compressed air to remove the debris or simply remove it with your hand.

My brushes on my hoover steamvac all terrain carpet and hard floor cleaner will not spin what do i do

I am not sure if you have the F7222 or F7452 all terran. There is a plastic piece on the back of the block brush (spin scrubbers) these wear out or break. You may need to replace the block brush. You can find the parts below follow the link. Please don't forget to give positive feedback.

My machine is a little more than a year old. I have used it about 5 times. It started leaking the third time I used it. The fourth time I took it out, the brushes would not spin (I did clean them and rinse them after use each time).
Now the engine screams and won't **** anything up. Do you have any suggestions? My last Hoover Steam Vac was great and lasted for 3 years! Hi,
I have a Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 that the brushes won't spin. The lint screen is clean & the brushes switch is in the on position.
It dispenses & sucks up the cleaning solution & water; just no brush action. Help

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The only thing that I can recommend is that you may have a bad switch, some vacs may have a broken belt or the drive mechanism inside the Hoover Dual V SteamVac F7425-900 in or by the brush assm section and is need of repair. Please check the trouble shooting section of the owner’s manual if you’re needing help and to save money. If you don’t have one then contact the Hoover factory cust serv. So, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
