If you are using an antenna the signal is too weak to broadcast the tv station completely, it is asking you to move the antenna to get better reception, if you are using rabbit ears you can move the antenna pretty easy, if you are using an antenna that is on the roof it's not as easy, if this is the case you can go to an electronics store or Radio Shack and get an antenna booster it should help you

Broken screen. i think both internal and external. it's pretty bad. replace screen? or buy new tv? or buy broken tv with in-tact screen? i paid $450 for this tv, so what is most cost effective?

Buying a new TV would save time most definitely, if it's in really bad shape the repair costs would add up pretty huge. Buying a broken TV with an intact screen might work as long as you can prove it's exporting signal though. If time means anything, and you have experience in engineering, I'd say go with buying a broken TV, otherwise based off your description, just buy a new system.

The picture is blurry and there are red lines in all programs mainly on the right side. advanced convergence doesnt work and when i use my dvd player the red lines are everywhere

You have several bad grounds in the convergence board. This TV will also need a new convergence IC. I believe it is a STK 393-110. It has poor grounds on its pins to the circuit board. I would suggest you replace it with a new one, it would be heart breaking to resolder the original IC and discover it is bad. It takes quite a while to pull this board out and replace. Be sure to check the 2 watt less than 10 watt resistors too. They can be bad. And I cannot tell you enough...there are also many, many bad grounds through out this convergence board. Please really examine this closely. Solder any and all ICs attached to heat sinks, power resistors, transistors, transformers etc. This TV is worth repairing. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

I cannot find my tv ariel hole to plug my ariel in

It's not a TV but a monitor. You need an external tuner such as a satellite or freeview (in the UK) box to drive it

Need to reset, tv power green light blinking

The TV is on protect mode.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

I recently purchased an ilo 32 inch tv and am having problems because when I first purchased it I had it connected to a cable box now I no longer have the cable box just the cable and am unable to hook it up because the connecter does not hook up to a regular cable cord is there a special connection that hooks it up directly to the cable cord? I read in the manual something about a F-type connector where can I get one?

Tv picture

It seems to me that you are watchin an analog signal on a digital HD TV, the analog signal is has a standard resolution of 720x576 for NTSC (American Signal) and 720x480 for PAL (European Signal).

It could be worth to go contact your cable company, they can hook you up with a digital receiver which gives a better signal and might even have a HD Signal (this means it has a HD-Ready 1280x720 of Full HD 1920x1080 resolution).

If you really want to use your LCD TV on his max this is really worth considering
