Question about Televison & Video

2 Answers

I have MITSUBISHI Mod WS55859 that I can't turm on. I pulled the plug while the set was on and now it blinks and will not stop. I changed the batterys in both the remote hand sets. I changed no cables. The light on the TV will not stop blinking. Under normal conditions the light will stop after a short time, then I turn on the TV with the remote. I made no changes to the TV because I have had no power and therefore could not have changed any codes changes etc. I need to know what I failed to do to correct this problam. I thank you for what ever assistance you can provide. Please contact me at buster79@cox.net.

I reject this comment because I don't think that unpluging a set would cause the problam. Thousands of set are unpluged around the world for many reasons. If I have no pic or sound that to me is a power supply problem which should be corrected by a fuse or breaker.

In this case I have power, but no sound or pic. Is it possiable that the TV requires a signal from the DVR? I just think it is something so simple that I have forgoten to write it down when it happens again.

I had Cox Cable check it out on time, but it was several years ago. I should have written it down, as just what did he did.

Caps short out resister open up. That is all I can think of or say.

I except this possiable problam, except it has always been my understanding that capacitors short and resisters open. I'm haveing the TV picked up Friday for repairs.

I will let you know what they found. Thanks

You have probably blown some component inside the tv. Try unplugging the tv for 20 minutes or so, and then plug it back.
If this does not fix the problem, then it is probably a faulty IC or a burnt capacitor etc.
In this case the TV must be taken apart an component on main pcb board tested.
This job should be performed by a technician, the choice is either going to a local TV repair, or calling the phone number printed on last pages of TV owner manual to get support.
    Check also guaranty terms.

Ic's went out again. Did you check all the bias resistors? Must always look the board over for cold solder joints also.

I HAVE A WS55859 , TOOK IT TO A TECH AND HAD 7 CAPS REPLACED BECAUSE OF BLINKING LIGHT AFTER POWER OUTAGE NOW AFTER 150.00 SPENT THE TV IS NOT BLINKING ANYMORE ONCE I TURN THE SET ON IT WONT STAY ON IT...

Did the set work after the tech replaced the caps?
Is the work under warranty?
Bad convergence amps would be the first suspect.
Press and hold the menu and device buttons at the same time on the set (not the remote). The led should blink an error code. If it blinks 2 times then 3 times, it is probably the convergence amps.

Green power light blinks about 20 times then turns off tv

Your TV is telling you to contact a repair shop because it has a very serious power problem. Check your power outlet with a cheap plug in tester you can get from any of the chain hardware stores to see if you have a problem with electrical outlets that you are plugging into.
