The CCD is the device the collect the image in a camera or scanner.
If it is not working then the device is replaceabvle under warranty or simply junk it and buy another.

Jvc video camera switch on and the screen tells you the lens cover is on

If your camcorder is still under warranty, send it before it's to late. There is some kind of wide spread problem with the CCD Assembly on this line of JVC products. In particular with the GR-DxxU line.

From what I have read in the internet, the CCD Assembly is a Sony part and can be purchased for about $50. If you are handy with electronics, you could give it a go. This repair if successful, will probably not last for to long either.

I have the same problem with this camera and it's a shame that JVC is not doing anything about it. I read somewhere that there is a pending class action law suit against JVC on this line of products.

Sony has also released a statement with one of their camcorders, that they will fix the problem at no charge. Can't remember the link but it's on this site.

Hope this helps,
A. L.

Do you really mean the CCD? That's the imaging sensor inside the camera. If you mean the LCD display on the back of the camera, you can order one at

I have a Canon PowerShot A75. When I turn it on I can not see an image in screen

Hi,
If you can not see live image on screen in Canon A75 camera that means its CCD imager is defective and this part needs to be replaced.

Now good news is that Canon will replace that part free of charge.
canon has issued CCD Advisory for Canon Customers for few models of cameras and your camera model is listed.

You can have details by clicking Canon CCD Advisory.
Good luck.

Canon Powershot A75 digital camera

Definitely sounds like you have a bad CCD. There is good news for you though. Canon recognized this particular model's CCD as faulty, and it is under recall! This means they will repair or replace your camera free of charge.

From Canon website: "U.S. residents are kindly directed to contact the Canon Customer Support Center for further assistance at 1-800-828-4040. Support hours are Monday thru Friday - 8:00 AM to 12:00 midnight; and Saturday 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM (all times EST). Alternatively, if electronic support is preferred, please send your email to carecenter@cits.canon.com"

Explain to them you have a Canon PowerShot A75 digital camera with a bad CCD and you were looking to get it serviced by them under the recall.

Good luck from darntoothysam.com

Canon A80 CCD problem or something else?

Open the camera, look at the Flat-cable going from the CCD to the 'camera HW', there is a small connector where the latch mecanism is open,-meaning it does not put pressure on the commenctors and if you touch the flat-cable you can see the flicker/lines, simply use a pen tip to lock the connector latch again, or apply som glue to fix the connector.

Fuji Finepix S5000

CCD sensor is faulty and should be replaced by Fuji agent free of charge because properly manufactured CCD sensor should last 15 years at least. Otherwise pay for labor to have new CCD block put in ( 1 hour ) and insist on the agent covering the cost of the part.
