DRC290 - lights on but no-ones home

Hi Rob.
I've got the light ring around the power button - but nothing else - no other digital display info like normal. remote doesn't work. i've done the RCA "reboot" push pwer in for 30 secs - unplug for 15 min. The only things that get response are the power button or the play button... both get the machine to make a sound like the changer is trying to shuffle discs - then it powers off.
could this be a disc stuck issue etc?
