Question about Sony KP-65XBR10W 65" Rear Projection Television
After on for awhile the set flashes red then turns off. I had an issue about 1 year ago where red lines appeared. I adjusted the voltage to remove these lines. Now the screen flashes red and then shuts off, goes to stand-by. The lights do flash but I am not sure how many times. Do I need a new CRT? If so are they available?
It sounds as though both of you have intermittent shorts in the picture tubes which I have seen before. Unfortunately, due to the age of the units and the likely scenario that you will be looking at relacing the other CRT's, it is probably not a good investment to repair the sets. If you are still interested in repairs, there are places that will rebuild the CRT's, but I believe the original parts are no longer available. If you found this solution to your liking, please be sure to rate me. Thanks.
