Why wont my Bernina Virtuosa quilt three layers of fabric including a polyester batting?

Depends what exactly is happening with your machine, not stitching? fabric not moving? pulling up polyester??? puckering?? tension issues?? Verify it is threaded correctly. It could be an incompatibility of the needle/thread/fabric sandwich. Be sure to use a brand new sharp needle. You may need a walking foot. If it is not a good quality of polyester batting, it could cause issues. Poor quality thread. Tension not adjusted. Etc...

You can probably narrow down the problem by trying different batting, different fabric, different needles, and different thread on scrap fabric sandwiches.

Fixing the problem of birdnesting

Birdnesting is a common but very frustrating problem that can be resolved easily once you know where the problem originates. Remember, if the birdnesting occurs on the underside of the fabric, the problem originates with the upper thread. If it shows on the top of the fabric, the problem is the bobbin.

Very often, the machine is not threaded correctly. Remove all the thread from the machine. Check there are no loose threads or lint stuck anywhere in the machine. Oil as instructed in the manual.

Install a brand new needle! The needle should be suitable for the thread and fabric you are using. All About Needles

ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread the upper thread. Verify the path is correct.

Check that the bobbin is installed and threaded properly.

Pull the bobbin thread to the top of the fabric.
How and Why to Bring up the Bobbin Thread

Set the upper tension to the midway point.

While holding both thread tails lightly in your left hand, begin sewing slowly.

Why does my Empisal sewing machine miss stitches , sew, miss, sew?

Skipped stitches
1. The needle is not inserted correctly
Remove needle & reinsert needle( flat side towards the back of machine)
2. The needle is damaged
replace with new needle
3. The wrong size needle is being used
Choose a needle to suit the thread & fabric
4. The foot not attached correctly
Check & attach correctly
5. If the above suggestions don't help then the machine needs to be checked
For a timing problem,, the feeddogs may need to be checked to see why they are not moving the fabric thru the machine.

I have a Bernina Activa 130. I tried to sew over some leather, started fine, then the needle got stuck and I stopped right away. Now, the bottom threads keeps bunching. I have re-threaded the machine, new...

You need a fatter needle. The skinny needle will not open the leather enough for a smooth flow of thread and that's why the bobbin is bunching up when the top thread is sticking. Make it easier on your machine by using an appropriate size needle while sewing leather.

My needle wont sew on my husky star 207?

change the needle--make sure it's the right needle for the fabric
being sewed
rethread the machine top using every thread guide
check to make sure the bobbin is not over wound, make sure the
bobbin is not warped, & that the bobbin is inserted correctly into the
machine
make sure the thread has not come off the thread take up lever
it's also possible that the machine is out of time

When sewing, the thread keeps pulling the fabric threads and the result looks messy. I've tried playing with the thread tension but it won't help.

have you tried using a new needle- if the needle is the slightest bet bent or or damaged it can cause problem with the fabric threads

if the needle is not the correct one for the fabric, it can move or damage the fabric threads

also clean under the needle plate for loose threads or lint also in the bobbin area

How can you fix the under threading of a sewing

Check the ovious things first make sure you needle isnt broken... then make sure there isnt any thread twisted inside your bobin housing. make sure bobin is inserted correctly if those things dont help it could be an issue of timing in your machine... I work as an embroidery operator in a factory setting and those things usually help..

I can start working withmy baby lock, the needle brokes verytime i runthe machine , and i can not sew

If this machine has a needle position adjustment and it is on the center position -

and you are sewing a zig-zag stitch and using a presser foot with a narrow opening this could break the needle

and the needle plate is a single hole, this will break the needle.

and you are sewing a straight stitch with a new needle and it breaks, the machine needs to go in for servicing.

My xl-5700 the needle keeps breaking or the thread keeps getting all bunched up plus I lost my instruction manual can I gat a new one

About the needle problem, Brother's FAQ gives the following response:

Make sure the needle is correctly inserted with the flat side facing the back and pushed up into the machine as far as possible.

The needle could have been damaged or bent. If so replace with a new one.

Make sure the fabric is not pulled excessively when sewing. Let the feed dogs move the fabric. Do not pull the fabric.

The combination of needle size, thread size and fabric is incorrect.
Be sure to use the correct needle and thread size for the fabric you are sewing.(example: Denim-size 16 needle and 40-50 heavy duty thread).

As for the manual, here's the link:

If it was sewing correctly BEFORE the needle break...why did the needle break in the first place?...and what fixes did you make?
If it sewed properly...what changed?

Cut your upper thread close to the spool...make sure the presser foot is raised and pull the cut off thread section through/out of the machine from the needle area (sewing direction...do not pull the thread backwards!)

Clean out the bobbin area...remove any traces of lint or pieces of thread...look for any broken off needle pieces... brush the bobbin area out....then add a drop of sewing machine oil (but only if your manual says to oil that area).

Remove the needle plate to expose the feed dogs...brush/clean out that area too and add a drop of sewing machine oil...then secure the needle plate back on.
Replace the needle...do it again...yup...some needles arrive bad from the factory. Make sure the needle is inserted and positioned properly. Then thread the machine WITH the presser foot in raised position. (The thread needs to get seated into the upper tensions.)
..with the.presser foot down...thread the new needle.
Oh...and use the correct needle for the thread. (a universal 80/12 is standard).
Thread can cause issues too. Try a different bobbin, or maybe a different spool of thread to see if that makes a difference.
