the web interface is the easiest. you need to type the ip address in your web brouser on your computer connected to the copier. then login admin. password is 00000000 or 12345678 it may have been changed and if so i can help with changing it back to factory default. once logged in you may need to refresh webbrouser to get the scan tab. there is your address book. and a place to add more
The Default factory passwords are not what you have listed. They are the following: User name: administrator Password: password (or possibly leave blank)
Give that a try.
However, the web interface isn't all that special on this older model anyway. All you need to program are the Ip address, and subnet mask, as there is no scan to email function, and the scanning can only be done via a software, that you won't have, and is getting difficult to find, because it is no longer supported, and just as complicated to configure should you find it ("Scanrouter V2 Lite" is the name ) as opposed to direct scan to folder. By the way this scanning software is NOT Vista compatible should you find it. If you can't log into the web interface....on the machine, go to "user tools', "system settings", Interface settings", and set your IP address and subnet mask...that's it.
If the button on the touch screen is not visible for the network settings in the administrator settings there is definately something going on. Try connectng to the web interface by typing the current IP address of the copier into the address bar in Internet Explorer. If you do not know the IP address that was assigned to it then Google for Angry IP Scanner, download, and install it. Let it scan your network and find the IP address that way. If you have the right IP address nd cannot access the IP then try it in Mozilla Firefox. You PC must be in the same IP range for any of this to work.
Once you get into the web interface you need to hit LOGOUT as you are in public mode. Then log back in as administrator. The default password is 00000000 or more likely, 12345678. YOU MUST LOG OUT OF ADMIN MODE. DO NOT JUST CLOSE THE BROWSER WINDOW. This will lock up the control panel and cause problems.
You can change the IP address from the web interface in admin mode.
If none of this works then contact me and I will go further. Hope this helps.
If you reset the network card on the 8008 back to factory defaults it will reset the web password back to 'sysadm'
To reset factory defaults power the pritner on holding down CLEAR, keep CLEAR held down whilst you power the printer ON, keep the clear button held down untill you see RESETT on the display.
Resetting factory defaults will reset all network settings EXCEPT - IP, Sub net and Gateway address
