1 Answer

Laptop was dropped, i think there may be loose connection as when you press the power button there is a faint ticking noise but i am Unable to remove the base to get to the power supply, seems to be a connector of some sorts just under the letter U which is keeping it tightly in position. Any Ideas?

Press start button laptop just buzzes

Has it been dropped, or is there any kind of holes that something could have lodged into it? Otherwise it sounds like the battery needs to be replaced, as it is not getting enough power.

Your local Electronics store may be able to check your battery out for you, but I would suggest calling first to make sure there is no charge for the visit.

Why are you holding down the power button? That can ruin the button.

Does this help? Let us know.

Acer Travelmate 6592G Charging problem

The power adapter id under powered by 1.32A that is why it takes a long time to charge and it is putting a lot of stress on the adapter and could cause it to overheat. The ticking sound could be the thermal cut out cutting the power to the laptop to prevent the power adapter from failing.

I have an acer aspire 7736z laptop and the power doesn't turn on, I tried to remove battery nd plugging power supply then hold power button for 30 seconds and still nothing works

Bottom Line the manual says if the light to not come on when cord is bluged in battery out get a new motherboard. You may also hear a slight ticking like a clock tick.. The Issue is the U58 chip on bottom side of motherboard burns out. sometimes takes out U63, U59 and U64 are same corresponding chip and can fail as well at worst case... Usually just U58..it is a 4812 chip you can get for a few cents...I heard how ever if you replace U58 and think U59 with the U63 chip a 4800IC chip the issue goes away... Trying to confirm... Until I confirm recomend either new mother board or correct U58 chips 4812..mosfet n channel..

I am Ravichandran, using HP Compaq nx6100 Model Laptop. My laptop did't boot and not even entering into Bios. Only HP Invent Embalam will appear and press F10 Rom Setup. If I press F10, F9, F1 there is...

If you are unable to "F-10" at power up, try 1}. unplug your laptop from AC adapter.
2}. press and hold power button until the computer powers up and powers off.
3} remove battery.
4). press and hold power button 10 seconds then release, replace battery.
5}. power up and press F10

If you are still unable to access BIOS you will need to obtain a system restore disk from HP

Doesn't power up, power light flashes 3 times when power button is pressed

Hello mate,
check that:
1. power supply is connected correctly to the electricity and from the other side to your laptop. 2. there is normally a light on the power supply, make sure that this light is one. in case it's off, that means the power supply is broken. 3. There is a charge light on the laptop which should be on once you connect the power supply to the laptop even tough the laptop is off. if this light is off, that means: a. the power supply is not passing the current to the laptop: you may test with another power supply. b. the power connector on the laptop is broken.
In the worst case, the motherboard maybe broken.

Ticking problem on power up

The ticking noise is most likely the hard disk and the ticking noise indicates that the hard disk is faulty.
A normal functioning hard disk makes a spinning sound.
I suggest you get your money back or get a new hard disk and install Windows to get the laptop operating again.
