Just bought a house which has a Haier dishwasher HDW101WH, no manual. Dishes come out dirty at the end of any cycle. Only seems to have cold water. How can I get it fixed?

Hi

If there is no hot water then the issue can also be with either of the two thermostats located inside the bottom panel. If they test fine then it is the heating element that should be replaced. You can also check this video for more help on replacing the heating element:

Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

Hi,

So you are saying that the water is not hot in the dishwasher?

The water should be 120 degrees all the time if not cold water doesn't wash grease and food off the dishes . that means the heater is not keeping the water at temp or the water heater temp needs to be checked and set at 120. to ensure hot water that's why all the film and build up not enough hot water.

If this is a case then heating element needs replacement.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

    Thanks for your response!!

You could get the user manual from :-

    http://www.retrevo.com/support/Haier-HDW...

You need to click on Download the document. It would take you to the next page.Go for 2nd option. Enter the correct number string and click on Download now.Save the file on desktop.

You need to have acrobat reader to view the file.

Regarding parts, you could either contact the manufacturer or check with local appliance shops. There could be many online vendors like repairclinic.com,however not sure whether they ship the parts to your place.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

    Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

My wash cycles are not cleaning dishes because water is not hot enough. Wash times have sometimes increased for same cycle.

It might be your dishwasher detergent. Try adding some TSP (tri-sodium phosphate) to your detergent.

Check your drain hose to make sure no water from the sink is draining back into the dishwasher.
If it is,re-hook the drain hose up high under the sink.
Next.
Start the dishwasher without dishes or detergent.
Once the fill and was cycle begins, open the door and por in 1 quart of WHITE vinegar and resume the wash cycle to completion.

My Bosch Dishwasher is not drying my dishes now. The model number is SHE44C05UC.

Hi there,

Unfortunately, it seems that the heating element has failed. The dishwasher uses steam to heat the tub to dry the dishes. I suspect your dishes are also being washed in cold water.

To check this, please run a regular full wash cycle. Allow the washer to fill with water and run for about 10 minutes, then open the door and feel the water temperature in the bottom of the washer. If the water is cold, it's more than likely the heating element has failed.

There are other possible faults which would cause the element not to heat, but these often prevent the dishwasher from completing the cycle. If the water is cold but the dishwasher still drains the water at the end - and completes the cycle - the heating element has probably failed.

Please try this simple test for water temperature and let me know if you need further assistance.

Dishes are still dirty at the end of the cycle

hello,

If your dishes are coming out of the dishwasher covered by a removable dirty film, your water may not be hot enough, or you could be using an inferior brand of automatic dishwashing detergent. If you have tested your hot water and find it is between 140 degrees and 160 degrees Fahrenheit, consider how long it takes for the hot water to reach the dirty dishes in the dishwasher. If the hot water has to travel a long distance to reach the dishwasher, chances are the water filling the dishwasher starts out cold. To alleviate this problem, run the hot water nearest to your dishwasher until the water coming out is hot. This will guarantee the water filling the dishwasher is as hot as it should be to properly clean dirty dishes.

To remove this type of film from dirty dishes, after running the dishes through a basic rinse cycle, set a bowl filled with a cup or two of white vinegar on the lowest rack of the dishwasher. Remove any metal pans or utensils, and with the vinegar on the bottom rack, wash the dishes as usual. Dirty dishes that were once covered in film should come out squeaky clean
hope this help?
thanks.

The dishes coming out dirty on my Whirlpool Gold Quiet Partner IV. Cycle seems to complete. The soap is being used. Not sure how old it is ... it came with a house I just bought. Any suggestions?

Clean the jets on the unit. Jets are the small openings the water comes out of. Contact Whirlpool, follow their recomondations, or add some CLR or Lime Away to the washer without a load of dishes. Both products remove Calcium Lime and Rust deposits which impede the flow of water, causing your dishes to come out dirty

No hot water, plates cold and dirty and wet

If you've installed it recently make sure the hot water tap was plumbed in and not the cold water tap, check the hot water tap temp in the house to make sure it's getting warm, there also should be a heating element located inside of the dishwaher that heats up to help the dishes dry at the end of the wash cycle, which is controled by a thermostat. If the heating element or the thermostat are bad your dishes won't dry.

Water seems to be hot enough, drains properly, arnms not blocked, dishes not being cleaned at end of cycle. Almost seems like it is skipping the wash cycle.

Hi smiller8565,
There is 3 basic problems that will cause a dishwasher to not clean the dishes. You can check these problems and see if any will solve your problems.
1: If there is water or suds left in the dishwasher after the cycle is complete. This will cause dirty water to be used in the final rinse and the dishes will not get clean.
2: The pump that supplies water to the spray arms is jammed or defective and unable to pump the water properly, thus causing the dishes to remain dirty.
3: Timer, the timer is not allowing the machine to work in the wash cycle.
The solutions for these 3 are as follows.
1: check the drain line for blockage, if you have a disposal make sure it is clear and water flows down the drain properly. If you have suds left in the dishwasher, clean them out and run a couple cycles with not detergent to rinse away the old suds.
2: Look down in the bottom for any obstructions in the pump. Popcorn seeds, broken glass, etc.
3: If the unit is skipping the wash cycle you will most likely need a new timer or control assembly.
Good luck and I really hope this will Fix Ya

Dirty dishes

if water comes into machine then valve is ok.
open machine when in cycle and look to see if spray arms are rotating
if not, then take out and clean.
spray arms only rotate with water jetting out of angled nozzles at end and if these are blocked then no rotation and poor wash

Water not hot

Dishwashers are suppose to be hooked up to hot water. If you had hotter water it would clean just fine. 120 deg or more!
