Yes, it´s a 9.1 GB in SCSi and a OPEN VMS operating system. We check with another drive , the same model and this rung perfectly.

It´s no a drivers problem or software.

Is it possible to adjust or calibrate the opical pickup?

The drive was running good for 3 years, we used 4.8 GB disk. Now it can´t read o write 4.8 GB disk, but it can read 1.2 GB disk.

I take off this drive and I install another drive to check the drivers, software, and cable and this new drive works fine.

I wanted to make sure. It looked like there was some confusion on Goggle as to what this product was intended for.

Is this device running on a seperate SCSI controller than the other drive?

    Please verify the model number.

C1114 indicates a 9.1gb optical tape drive in SCSI

I don't think the drive can be adjusted or calibrated. It's dependent on the operating system and the drivers it uses.

It could be the drive itself needs to be replaced so that it can read the format you need.

Is there a way you clean the thing?

My toshiba 16 gb is not reconized

if you are referring to usb drives or scan disk cards if its a scan disk card it must have device to plug it into (camera ,phone, navigator) if its a usb drive you must plug it into a usb port if you want to use the usb drive

click start click on my computer you should see your drive it will be listed as something like G: or H: or if its in a device it might be seen as a mass storage device

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question/exclamation mark ? ! or a red X you will need to update the driver
right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working
if your computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it
ports(com&lpt)right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems for a computer and its parts
hope this helps you

Drive not recognising MO disk. Orange light flashing endless.

Your drive is not spinning up because of ither a read channel calibration error- or a focus servo error- assumimng your using the same media you always have been- and its not REALLY dusty.

Read Cal failure is caused by the controller and the Focus Servo Failure is caused by the optcs module-

repair cost $285 for either.

Usb stick not usable

Because its beyond 4Gb that's why its already detected as a disk drive.

You can still save your files here. Have you already tried?

If so, what is the exact error you are getting?

KINGSTON removable disk error

Find and check real free space go to my computer and right click your driver letter and click properties it will show what is real ammount of disk. For one 4GB file it must not be problem but for meny little file can take more space besider their sum of capacity is 4GB. At format check correct ammount of data "capacity" is 8GB (7.9) also file system for NTFS or FAT32. FAT cant bear 8GB.
