Go out to support - downloads and check what they have for your 8250, there will probably be one to correct your problem, I use hp exclusively and have updated all my software and drivers recently.

How to clean up start up processes

Questions about optimize start up:
How to remove program from start up?
My computer boots very slow? How do I clean up start up processes?
Windows startup very slow, how to fix it?

Why clean up start up processes?
Windows Startup program will load the default programs or processes you add to your computer. The test result shows a new system only boot within 30 seconds. As you install antivirus program or other applications, it becomes very slow. Sometimes, the startup gets bloated not due to your computer behaviors. Malicious software is prone to add useless processes on startup without your known. You are not aware that your computer becomes more and more slow until serious computer problem occurs. Don’t ignore a slow start up, it is the root of Blue Screen and computer freezing.

How to clean up start up processes?
The first thing you should do is to remove spyware or adware from your computer. I prefer to AVG, it is a free anti-virus program. If you want to clean virus completely, you need boot in safe mode and disconnect your Internet.

Hok is a professor with over ten year’s computer experience. He suggest us use ErrorFix. This is a pc optimize tool which can clean up system registry entries, useless program, start up processes and junk files. With this program, your computer will be obviously improved. Just a few clicks, you can remove processes that slow your computer.

What’s more to speed up your computer?
Do not download Peer-to-Peer Download Software! Maybe you are using some software such like YouTube Downloader. These are probably some of the least likely contenders for system-slowdown but they are popular on the internet. Those kinds of program can take up memory space and damage your computer. Also they can automatically add itself as your start up.

1997 dodge caravan put a new battery on now it wont start would the theft system be messed up or have anything to do with it

Well, it is hard to say without actually checking the vehicle.
If the battery was connected backward for even a second, there could be some serious electrical system/computer damage causing your problem.

Then again, it may not be quite so sinister....When the battery is disconnected, some of the computer modules power down immediately and some of them can stay alive for several minutes due to capacitors in the system that are designed to provide power in the event of sudden power loss in a crash. Some of them can stay alive for the duration of the time that it takes to replace the battery. This can cause fault codes to set in some modules that can cause the security system to disable engine starting when the system boots up.
The fix for this type of a problem is to force a "hard boot". To do this, disconnect the NEGATIVE battery cable and use a jumper to connect the NEGATIVE cable to the POSITIVE cable for about 20 seconds. This will force all of the capacitors to discharge. This way, when you connect the cable back to the battery, ALL of the computer modues will have to re-boot - not just the ones that power down immediately upon battery cable removal.

If "hard-booting" does not solve your problem, then I would recommend scanning your computer network with a scan tool that has the capability to access the ENTIRE computer network in your vehicle to help locate the cause of the problem.

Thinkpad R40 slow to boot, very slow in all other aspects. It can take close to a minute to just open Windows Explorer.

Hello bd35,
Welcome to Fixya!
When you say "slow to boot, very slow in all other aspects." There is a change that your computer might have been infected with a virus. But let's not jump into conclusions, I'm just setting proper expectation here that that can be a cause.
You might want to consider: - Disconnecting extra peripheral devices i.e. printers, scanners, USB flash drives or ext. HDDs - Disabling all the start-up items and services, here's how: 1. Click "Start" 2. Click "Run" 3. Type "msconfig" 4. Go to the "Startup" tab and click the "Disable All" button 5. Go to the "Services" tab, check the "Hide all Microsoft services" check box, and click on the "Disable All" button 6. Click the "Apply" button, and the click "Ok" button. 7. Then "restart the computer.

This printer has always worked - today there is no light and my computer says the printer is offline. we've tried 3 diff plugs, all connections are good..

Your printer is not communicating with the Operating System.
Follow the following steps:-

1.First uninstall the printer. ( Make sure you have the printer driver disk )
2.Make sure the printer is OFF and disconnect the power lead to your desktop or laptop.
3.Leave the computer OFF for 2 to 3 minutes. I actually mean turn it off and disconnect your power cord to the computer. That will clear everything.
4.Plug in and on your computer and let it boot up. When its fully booted, click START / SETTINGS / PRINTERS and FAXes and click ADD A PRINTER.
5.Follow the instructions and have the appropriate driver disk or files on your computer to complete the installation.

Remember, most installations require the printer NOT be powered up or connected while you load the drivers. That is normally the last step and the driver loading will prompt you to turn on the power and make the connections.

Then you probably will have to reboot and you are done.

Konica Minolta PagePro 1350W low print speed

Print speeds will vary based on a lot of factors. First thing to note is that your printer should have a first print time of about 20 seconds. This means the first page should take about 20 seconds before it starts printing and than will print at rated engine speed.

Secondly, depending on the type of paper and thickness your speed may slow down. Most printers will slow down for a thicker paper. In general the thicker the paper the more time it needs for the toner to fuse or melt to the paper.

The size of the paper will also greatly affect the speed too. Manufacturers spec their machines to letter size in the portrait orientation (the leading edge is the 11 inch or long side). In general for legal you will have a 15 to 20% reduction in speed and for 11 x 17 you can have as much as a 40% or more reduction in speed.

Print resolution may affect the speed. Usually most printers will print faster in a draft mode. This may also reduce the amount of toner used.

How do you connect to your printer? Different cables all have different speeds. For that matter is there an upgrade to the RAM? This could also change the speed of the print job. However these should not affect the final speed too much.

So to get the "rated" speed of your printer you will need to use standard letter paper with the long edge leading. Remember don't use thick paper and use a draft mode or lower resolution if possible to get the best speed.

I hope this helps.
