Hi perfect4uj,
Ribbon that keeps on breaking is caused by a worn out platen roller or o-ring that need to be replaced. It is recommended to clean the machine using the Fargo cleaning kit and you may go to this link in case you need cleaning instruction.
Hope it helps.

Hi there,
Try to do a sensor calibration first done through the printers driver. Here's how to calibrate:
1. Click the Start button in the lower left corner of your monitor and select Settings. Then select Printers and Faxes.
2. In the Printers and Faxes window, Right Click on the driver for your printer and select Printing Preferences from the list.
3. In the Persona C30e Card Printer Printing Preferences window, Select the Calibrate tab and then click the Sensors button.
4. For the C30 and C30e printers follow the instructions in the Calibration window to calibrate the ribbon sensor. When the calibration is complete, the printer will beep twice.
Note that for the C30 or C30e printer, you must cover the front of the printer before clicking the send button to prevent ambient light from entering the printer as it may negatively impact the ribbon calibration process.
If still the same issue then you need to replace the parts.

Solution to loud noises:
Check the ribbon cartridge and ensure that the cleaning roller is properly installed and rolls smoothly
inside the cartridge. Then check the plate underneath the cleaning roller and verify the 4 pins are seated properly.
Solutions to blurry prints:
1. Make sure the printer has the latest firmware via the web. >> Click Here << to download the latest firmware (Look for "Persona C30e Firmware_Windows/Linux 4.3.0.1 "). The firmware upgrade file is packed in zip file. Extract it to a directory of your choice.
>> Click Here << for an instruction on how to upgrade the firmware. When being prompted to locate the "upgrade file", browse to where you extracted the firmware upgrade file.
2. Calibrate the ribbon sensor. If you have completed these 2 steps and the printer still prints out faded or light cards,
3. Try a new power supply. Part# (E000480). Note: Please verify the proper power supply is being used.

After I posted my problem , I went to try to print just a plain bar code and it printed perfectly, so now I can print a single black bar code but nothing color. Would u still reccomend same solution, being the roller or o ring? just want to make sure before I order the parts
