Just started a game, then xbox froze up. Thought it could be the game, so I tried another one, same thing happened. I disconnected from power source for a minute, and tried again. Froze up again. What could the problem be?

Im sorry bout the xbox, trust me i know how it feels for a system to mess up and ive read the Xbox 360 flashing red, is indicating some major trouble is about to go down.
sorry for the bad news.
i hope i have helped!!!!
Shutting off the Xbox corrupted the Hard Drive... Have you ever got a Live System Update? You can also reset your Xbox without shutting it off using the controller. You probably have the Three Red Rings of Death... Go to this...
i suggest unplugging the cat5 cable(the one that provides internet access) or remove the wifi adaptor and test if it runs good. if that doesn't work, then your problem lies with the actual xbox hardware. if it works, you have a very unstable internet connection.
There are two possible solutions to this issue. One the data that you downloaded either got corrupted during transfer somehow or during a resent save. You should delete all the iformation off your hard drive and start fresh. If this doesnt work try takeing off your hard drive and playing a game if it deosnt freeze you will need to either try the delete method or get a new HD.
If this doesnt solve your issue then it is very possible that your system is headed for the red rings of death. My system was fried after i had played assasins creed. It would freeze up and create this checker pattern on my back ground my system shortly after went red ring.
try to keep the box in a spot where it and the power brick can stay cool.... same thing happened to my first box eventually it got the rings of death like so many other xboxs out there... so if keeping it well aired dont work you need to ring micro soft and have it sent off for repairs before it suffers a system failure
