I had a jam while printing transparency. Print quality is poor. Skips lines faded, does not print all text. Changed ink, cleaned heads, aligned heads, and tested. Still bad problem with the print.

Well, in this case, pls check printer's properties, can be changed to defualt settings or some thing could be wrong with it because you been tested already all possible options.

one day, my hp printer started same problem, no good printing result, I took out its cartridges pick cotton swab, dip it in water, and rubbed it on face of cartridge head, cleaned it with tissue paper and placed back cartidges. that trick worked and started good printing. I'm not sure to suggest you this trick but if you wanna try, go ahead. my theory was the ink got dry at heads, so water cleaned it.

Unable to clean

probably refers to a clogged print head. in the long run it would be cheaper to buy another unit instead of repairing old one.

Have you tried going thru the control panel, printers and faxes and selecting ( with the right mouse button) that printer and then properties... to print a test page? or.. have you used the device manager to check that the printer is working properly? To use the device manager, right mouse button MY COMPUTER then selct the Hardware tab and then Device Manager.. You may find your printer listed under Imaging Devices.. Right mouse that and select Properties.. You wil have some options there to update the drivers too.. Hope these tips get you going...
Good Luck..

HP photosmart 7280 - when printing with Toshiba or HP notebooks (both Vista) a blank page is ejected between EACH printed page of a document. HP had no solution.

Assuming that you are connecting directly to the printer via USB, on the advanced tab under the printer properties, make sure the "Print Directly to the Printer" option is selected.

Hey,

3 years, its definitely a problem in the printer head or the cardridges, try performing the print head cleaning a few times, also alingment? You can also clean the carts and connectors yourself.

Thanks,
Ekse

HP Photosmart C7200. Printer is not printing the bottom quarter of the page, despite print preview showing the whole page fits within the margins. I am using A4 paper

Try reseting the printer to factory defaults- also does the same problem happen when you a printing from a computer or trying to print a scan directly on the printer?

try restoring the printer to factory default settings, you can also try reinstalling the drivers on your computer.

When I try to print on A4 paper the Canon printer pulls on the right side of the paper only and it jams. I can still print on the small sheets (A5?) or on my 4 x 6 photo paper.

Check to see if this will affect your guarantee and if so would probably not go ahead with it.

Protect yourself from shock by disconnecting the power cord from the back of the Canon printer.

Unhinge the back access panel of the printer. .
Look through the opened back panel and look for paper or any other object that should not be there. Remove any paper or obstacle you find jammed there.
Close the back access panel. Make sure that it latches back into place.
Find the front or top access panel. This is the panel you would lift to change ink cartridges. Open this access panel and look for paper or any other object that should not be there
. Remove any paper or object you find jammed here. If you find paper pull slowly or the paper will rip and create a major problem.
Close the front access panel. Make sure that it latches back in place.

Put the power back on..
