Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.
The spark Plug Gap is 0.030. Any original or aftermarket spark plug for this unit is pre-set to 0.030. Unless you dropped the replacement plug it should be fine. All Ryobi engines 2 and 4 cycle have a 0.030 spark plug gap.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

I had lost the user manual. When I found the manual it said 0.20.

    Correction. The manual said 0.02

Every manual I look at has it at 0.30. Your owners manual may be correct but as a service person since the 1960's I have never seen a spark plug gap less than 0.025 on any lawn maintenance engine. The range is 0.025 - 0.032 regardless of brand. All Ryobi service manuals have the gap listed at 0.030. With a gap of 0.020... a speck of carbon will cause your spark plug to ground out and you will be cleaning the plug or replacing it. Your choice as how to proceed. I am just passing on almost 5 decades of my own small engine repair experience.

Word for word from the manual:

    SPARK PLUG REPLACEMENT

This engine uses a Champion RY4C spark plug with .025 in. electrode gap. Use an exact replacement and replace annually.
