Sounds like a valve problem. might have a broken rocker

  • Anonymous May 08, 2011

I did pull the valve cover to check this. When I pull the starter cord, the 2 rockers seem to function normally. I also pulled the pump cover to see if the main shaft was broken, but it's fine too. Thanks for the post

Mk4 gti vr6 has power but doesn't start, runs with pop start

Could be a number of things but may want to begin by checking wiring to starter, battery, or even the ignition switch. These components may not turn your engine light on.

93 chrysler t&c awd changed fuel pump and filter, van ran fine again for about 2 months now won't start and don't hear the fuel pump. changed the oil pressure sending unit and still won

fuel pick-up in tank is blocked it has a sock over the end as a gross filter to keep out any big junk from getting sucked into the pump and causing damage to it. the sock can get so plugged up that no fuel will flow, causing the pump to run for a short time then with no fuel flow to cool it it trips the safety and shuts off

2000 gmc jimmy starts in AM fine won't start after sitting in sun all day

Can you jumper the fuel pump and make it start and continue to run ?
Have you checked to see if you are getting spark when it won't start ?
Could be a relay or coil, ignition module, or other component.

Engine shuts down

The only way to know for sure is to hook a gauge to the rail and check the fuel pressure when it won't start.
Sitting for a few minutes and restarting is normally a sign of a relay or coil cooling off.
There should be a EEC relay that powers the dist module and ECM.
I know you said you have spark, but it could be something else
related.
Also, if you have spark at the right time and no fuel pressure, you should be able to use starting fluid to substitute.
I don't suppose you have dual tanks and the switching valve is the problem ?

1992 saab 9000 weird noise then engine shuts off

Remove the water pump belt. Start and see if the noise is gone. If the noise is gone you have a bad component that is driven by the belt.

car shuts off when it gets to normal operating range. it takes 10-15 minutes to reach normal range. causes: low coolant, failing coolant tempurature sensor, air in water pump, check the coolant temp. sensor. if it is bad it will send wrong info to engine when hot, and shut it down. I have a Whirlpool Gold Quiet Series Plus, Model GU940SCGT3, not working. It ran a cycle, cleaned the dishes, but the water didn't drain and the "CLEAN" light is stuck on. It is now...

Hi

If clean light is blinking then it may be an issue with heater circuit, door switch or wash pump, please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry or Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry, Hi Temp Scrub, energy saver dry or High Temp Wash-Heated Dry-High Temp Wash-Heated Dry. Now let the unit run for 2-3 minutes and then you press the Cancel/Drain button and allow it to completely drain and reset. If this doesn't work then it's an issue with the wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. You'll have to check the heater using a multimeter; the meter should read between 3000 to 3300 ohms (Use multimeter on Rx1 ohm setting). If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine. Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.
