Water Freezing in bottom of Freezer and dripping out front of freezer door

I noticed water dripping out my freezer door onto the floor. I emptied the freezer and noticed the entire bootom of freezer door is ice (over 1 inch thick. I defrosted freezer and cleaned up everything and turned the freezer back on (with ice maker still turned off). Within 12 hours I noticed 1/4 inch of frozen water on bottom of freezer. It appears to be coming from the back of the freezer from vents located near the bottom.

What is the issue?

How do you determine if it's the defrost timer or the defrost heater.

Have a side by side GE Profile. Ice builds up between the inside back panel and the outside pack panel. Also ice on the walls and bottom panel of the freezer . Could hear the fan blades hitting ice build up in the rear of the freezer section.

This could either be a blocked drain from the freezer not allowing defrost water to escape or the defrost heater failing to turn on due to a faulty defrost heater or defrost timer not enabling the water to escape

Water is slowly dripping onto the floor from the bottom of the freezer door. it is as if the door is full of water. any suggestions?

ARe the temperatures good inside the freezer? If they are not near 0° F, that is the cause of the water drip.

If it is nice and cold in freezer, check freezer floor, is there a sheet of ice? you have a clogged defrost drain, clear it or have it cleared for you.

Water is filling up on the bottom of the freezer floor...freezes and then partially melts, dripping out onto the floor.

It's to do with the defrost cycle. The appliance will autmatically go into this and normally you would not notice. What has happened is the hole that the defrosted water disapears through is blocked and the water is freezing in ur appliance rather than running away. Have a look at the back of the appliance inside the freezer and look for the hole then pour a little hot water down it to release the block.Sometimes the hole can be hidden behind a panel with small grills on it.

Hope this helps

I have a top freezer model and every morning their is a small pool of water in front on the floor. I checked the bottom tray in the back and drip tube and they seem to be ok. I noticed in the door that...

These doors are not water cooled. Is there water in the drip pan? Likely not and the drain is froze over with ice. you will have to remove the rear panel inside the freezer and clean the drain. There is most likely ice under the freezer floor that needs removed also. Take your time and do not damage the styrofoam separator and air channels.

Freezer malfunction

Drain hole is clogged behind the panel that covers the coils. I found a peice of solder blocking mine. Water was freezing on the bottom of the freezer and leaking out to the floor.

Water on btm of glass shelves and water in bottom of frig

sounds like you have a gap in the door seal, which results in condensation forming inside unit. Use a blow dryer to heat the seal around the door and ensure that the fit is tight.
