Question about Maxtor Personal Storage 3200 (U01E200) 200 GB Hard Drive
I have been using my Maxtor hard drive to back up documents over the last year.
On trying to add a new folder on the drive it has stated that this is write protected. I dont remember ever making this amendment.
Go to "My Computer".
Right click your drive and select properties.
click the "security" tab.
select one by one and click "remove" for each user.
When all users have been deleted, click on add.
Under the "Enter the object names to select", type "everyone"; click OK.
now, under "Permissions for Everyone", click the check box for "Full Control" for "Allow". Now all the boxes for Allow should be checked.
Now you should have access to the drive.
