There's a few reasons why a laptop might freeze randomly.
1) The laptop could be overheating. If the freezing usually happens after the computer is on for a long time or under heavy usage, it might be getting too hot. Try using it on a hard surface or buying a laptop cooling pad that has built-in fans if this might be the problem.
2) It might be a system error. Open the Control Panel and do a search in the upper right-hand corner for 'event log'. When it comes up on the screen, click it and the Event Viewer will open. (See attached picture). Click on the System link on the left and see if there are any errors (a bright red exclamation point) from around the time that the laptop froze. They will all be time-stamped and should provide more information if that's what is going on.
3) If it does not seem to be from heat and there are no event logs showing a major system malfunction, there might be something more serious wrong with it, like a faulty RAM module or a bad hard drive. If it is still under warranty, I would recommend contacting either Lenovo's technical support; or, if this is a work laptop, your company's internal support to see if they have any further information.
Hope this is helpful!
