What did you do before the problem was showed up? I have same bug since the moment I was try to connect my ZEN Vision M thru iPod cable. I still can use it as player, but lost the ability to syncronize it with PC. Looks like I fucked up something in my hardware.
It should work but if you wanna be safe try deleting everything off of the ipod drive first. If you do a google search it seems many people are not only removing the hard drive but actually putting in much bigger hard drives. ( up to 100GB). The only thing ive noticed is that if its a SLIM version then it may not work as a few websites have said that they cant perform upgrades on the slim versions.
there seems to be a problem with the batteries for the Zen. I have just sent mine in for warranty work as it will work if you have it plugged into an AC adapter but it won't work as soon as it's unplugged even after charging all night. The USB will not charge it either. Creative has sent a replacement unit, but there is a serious problem with the battery.
