Password problem Im sorry you did something wrong. -Start up in safe mode -Login as administrator -Start -> control panel -> user accounts -> change the user account password -restart -problem solved.

    I confused your problem with another one, in other words I wrote into the wrong page.

    start up the safe mode again, login the same way as before.
    i recommend you run ccleaner in safe mode on the computer.. how will you get it on the computer? burn a cd or disk / usb memory.

    www.ccleaner.com

    also, see if you can remove the command.com from startup generally its not supposed to be there

    so:

    start -> run -> type in: Regedit
    go to hkey local machine \ software \ microsoft \ windows \ current version \ run

    do you see the command.com there? Right click and delete it.

I'll try your first solution again. I don't know what "password" to change. The only password I have is for my Bellsouth email & internet access. This problem occurs upon booyup of my desktop, well before trying to connect to my DSL account. Please clarify.

    Ekse- Problem was fixed before I got a chance to try your solution. I'm not sure who's solution really was THE fix but after I tried the suggestion from coss71 everything went back to normal again.

    I plan to save your solution and try it if I get into trouble again. Thanks

Try this solution to your problem.
Start your computer
1. Keep pressing "F1,F2 or F8" as the laptop computer starts.(Depending on your computer)
This will start the computer in Safe Mode.
2. When the window "Advanced Boot Options" opens, choose "Safe Mode" with arrow key and confim by pressing the Enter key, then PC enters the Safe Mode.
3. Once you are in the Safe mode Click "Administrator" on the Windows login screen.
Take note that you have set the Administrator password before, you need to input the changed password instead of leaving "Password" field blank.
4. Then click Start > Control Panel > User Accounts > Select the account that is locked and change the password.
5. Restart laptop and login into the account you just created using your new password.

I kept password for my administrator account..but when iam logging the computer it does not asking password...and directly opening the windows...i wants to keep windows should enter the password on windows...


1) Go to Control Panel on the start menu.
2) Double click on User Accounts.
3) Then under the Pick a Task heading select Change the way users log on or off.
4) Tick the box next to Use the Welcome screen.
5) Then click apply. Password or not when your computer starts up it will take you to the welcome screen where the user can select which account they want to log into.

I have a toshiba NB300 and I forgot my password to unlock it and I can't get in


When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator as the user to log in once you have your computer running again you have to take control (administrator)control panel user accounts on the users tab,click the name of the computer administrator you can change the password there or if your computer has a system restore you can restore it to an earlier date which will have your personal settings or
during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain key to enter set up

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

also

control panel user accounts

on the users tab,click the name of the computer administrator you can change the password there

If you're having trouble logging into Windows, you can attempt to use the Administrator account to edit/remove the password of the user login. The Administrator account is hidden by default while in normal mode. You'll need to boot the PC into Safe Mode and login as the Administrator account. Follow the below steps:

  1. Reboot the PC and before the Windows boot screen appears, tap the F8 key about once per second.
  2. Eventually you'll be faced with a screen asking you how you want to boot Windows. Select Safe Mode.
  3. You will see some dll, sys, and com files scrolling down your screen, this is normal. Eventually the PC will boot up and you'll have a login screen with your User Account(s) and a new account, Administrator. Select Administrator.
  4. As long as you haven't, in the past, altered the password for the Administrator account, you should be able to simply click this account and have it log you in. If it requests a password, you might try "password" (without quotes) for the password.
  5. Once in, Navigate to Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts
  6. Select the User Login information that you're not able to log into and remove the password for the account or change it something you know.
You can now reboot the PC normally and be able to log into this account without a password or with the password you created.

turn on pc...hold down f8...boot to safe mode...login using 'ADMINISTRATOR' account...open control panel...change ur old account password...then restart pc...n login to old account using new password...
