My Creative ZEN 8 GB has Firmware Problems

My Creative ZEN 8 GB froze and I pressed the Reset button. Since then it has continuously reported Firmware problems and all options I have tried have failed, including trying to reload Firmware via USB

    My zen is stuck on the same screen since it started freezing. When i restart it, it rebuilds the library and goes right back to the screen and its still frozen. I got to a recovery center once, and i dont know how to get back. PEASE HELP! :[

Try uninstalling Windows Media Player version 11 from your computer before trying to reload the firmware. It works wonders.

The screen froze and keypad just wouldn't work. How to restore it?


1 Turn off your player.


2 Press and hold the Play/Pause.Continue to hold the Play/Pause button until you perform Steps 3 and 4.If you accidentally release the button, start the procedure again.


3 Gently push the end of a thin object (like a pin or straightened paperclip) into the Reset hole. The reset button for the ZEN Mozaic is located on the left side of the player, with the menu buttons facing you.


4 Slide the On/Off/Lock switch towards the power button and hold until the display lights up. The Recovery Mode screen appears, and four menu items are shown: Clean Up, Format All, Reload Firmware and Reboot.

From here you should be able to choose to reload the firmware.

I have a creative zen 4 GB and i accidently dropped it on the pavment and it froze when i picked it back up i pressed the reset button to reboot it but after i did that it wont turn on i get the firmware...

I'll begin by saying that this is an 8GB Creative Zen MX, and NOT a 16GB, but I believe the solution may be the same. My zen will not turn on, or connect to my computer. This happened just yesterday...


Hi.
just pressing the reset button is not enough.


Try this:


1. To reset the player, gently insert a thin object into the Reset hole located below the power switch.

2. Press and hold the Play/Pause button while powering on your player.

3. When the player displays the Creative logo, release the Play button.



Depending on the model you can also use following procedure:
1. Remove the battery.

2. Move and hold the Power button to the Power On position and re-insert the battery to the Zen Vision. Hold the Power button until the Recovery Mode appears.

Im still having the same problem with my creative zen player


about this issue of creative zen wherein the device is not booting up to the normal os. and is not being detected by your computer, and giving you options to clean, reset, and format. my brother and i own creative zen, my brother own zen 4GB and i own 16gb. i don't have any problems at all. but my brother does. what i did is i just download the firmware version of my brother's zen that is missing which is version 1.03.04_0.6.1. unfortunately you will not find this firmware version at creative website.
i checked a website and i found this.
it's at http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/Other-DRIVERS-TOOLS/Others/Creative-ZEN-4-8-16-GB-Firmware-10304.shtml

just perform this steps and you're good to go.

1. download the firmware for your zen.
2. connect your zen to your pc.
3. run the executable file (firmware).
4. just follow the on-screen instructions on your computer and you're good to go.

Omy zen v plus is stuck on the shutting down screen, it has been for about four hours


Press the "reset" button. If it didn't work, upgrade the firmware of this product. If problems still continue, contact the Creative company.

Creative zen mp3 help please


You will need to put the Zen into recovery mode and erase the firmware, then reload the firmware. Follow these steps:

To Erase the Firmware:

1. Get a paperclip and straighten it out.

2. Hold down the Play/Pause button, and put the paperclip through the reset hole. Release the paperclip while continuing to press the Play/Pause button until you see the screen change.

3. Select "Reload Firmware."

To Load the new Firmware:

Go to www.Creative.com/support --> downloads. Click through the navigation and download the latest Zen Touch firmware. Reboot your computer, then plug in your Zen via USB cable. Double-click the firmware icon and then click upgrade.
