I'm assuming you're referring to the PSP.
Official firmware releases do not support backups (as iso, cso, eboot, etc.).
If you are using a custom firmware, downgrade a version or two. It is also possible that the latest few games can't run on custom firmware just yet.

You need a program such as "virtual clone drive" to use iso files. After you download such a program right click the iso file and chose "Mount". Then go to "computer" and the mounted iso should be under "Devices with Removable Storage". Open the mounted file and proceed as if you had inserted the gaming disc

How to install the game in psp

Hi.
First, you need to have a Custom Firmware (CFW) in order to play games using your Memory Stick. If you got your PSP with the Sony's Official Firmware, you cannot play games from your card.
If you got CFW already, all you need to do is place the .CSO or .ISO files to your ISO directory. You can do this by copying the .CSO or .ISO from from your computer to E:\ISO (where E is the drive representing your PSP).
After that, remove your PSP from PC and go to Game/Memory Stick and start playing.

How to install a game

There are two ways to install games on your Sony PSP (Play Station Portable).

The legit way is to buy original UMDs and insert them in your PSP and game on.

For the not-so-affluent, you can install Custom Firmware (CFW) on your PSP and thendownload games off the internet and copy them to your PSP and play them.
Play ISO / CSO Games on your PSP

-

1. Install Custom Firmware:

- There are scores of tutorials on the net on how to do this. The easier way out would be to go to any console shop, and get your PSP modded with CFW for around Rs. 200 / $5.

- A detailed tutorial on this coming up soon.

2. Download the Game ISO / CSO.

- Next, search for the game you want, and download the ISO / CSO of the game from torrent sites or any warez forums. Most of the times, the ISO / CSO is compressed into a RAR file so you will need to extract it first using WINRAR.

3. Copy the ISO / CSO to your PSP

- Connect the PSP to your computer using the data cable and goto Settings > USB Connection.

- Open your PSP drive in My Computer, and goto the ISO folder. If it isn't there already, create a new folder and rename it to ISO.

- Copy your ISO or CSO files to the ISO folder and disconnect your PSP from the computer.

4. Play the Game on your PSP

- Goto the GAME icon > Memory Stick and select the Game you just copied. Press 'X' and game on. icon_biggrin.gif

Note:
1. You need to have CFW (Custom Firmware) installed in order to use ISO / CSO games on your PSP. The latest version of CFW is 5.00 M33-4.
2. The latest PSP 2004 with TA 088 v3 chips and the PSP 3000 aren't moddable yet.

How can i install iso/cso to my psp 3000 version 5.55

From the root of your memory stick (MS), create a folder named ISO.
Save all your ISO and CSO games there.
Note that your PSP must be hacked before you can be able to play games from the MS.

Games work really slow on psp merory stick

maybe your game format is CSO... CSO is a compressed file... which means a bigger time to load for the psp from the memory stick...use ISO.. but note that when using ISO the file is bigger than CSO and may be even bigger than its expected size

Psp HAving problems with games

The memory card has to be supported by the PSP, first of all, and the CSO Games have to be saved in the ISO Folder of your Memory Stick root. You might have to make this folder if you don't already have it.

Why i cant play cso or iso games on my vre

Your CSO/ISO files should be in your ISO folder in the root of your memory stick. You might have to make this folder if you don't already have it. Also, your UMD mode have to be set to NO UMD REQUIRED, or M33 Driver. You must have Custom Firmware to play ISO/CSO games.

BIG HELP

is your PSP modified/CFW? if not it wont play cso or iso games. When u formatted your memory stick it will create ISO folder in the root of the memory stick. you said you created the folder, sounds to me that your not using CFW. this wont work.

If your using CFW/modified then format your memory stick using format option of your psp. Copy the cso/iso files to the ISO folder and that should work.

Psp 3.95

To play ISO/CSO games on your PSP, you MUST have custom firmware installed. To install custom firmware, you need to downgrade your PSP to version 1.50/1.52. To downgrade it, you need a Pandora's Battery and a magic memory stick. You can buy the on eBay (about $10 for Pandoras battery). you can make a magic memory stick yourself easily (check videos on youtube). To make a Pandoras battery, you must be VERY carefyul because when doing this, your battery might explode because you will be soldering.(Lithium battery+Heat=Explosion). so thats what you need. If your making it urself, check the internet for tutorials(theres a lot of them)
