Most jewelry stores--or even jewelry counters in department and discount stores like Walmart--keep a supply of replacement screws for when one is lost while changing a watch band. Ask around, show them your watch, and you may even get the right screw for free!

In my area the stores do not have this screw. They suggested that I contact you to purchase the screw or perhaps Field and Stream would send one to me as a loyal customer for free

Did you go to a general service jewelry store or to a store that advertises watch repair? Around here, while not all jewelry stores service watches anymore, they will quickly point to one that does. FixYa.com does not sell any replacement parts, so it is strange to hear that you were directed to this web site to purchase something.

If you simply are having no luck, you might try purchasing a replacement band until you find the right screw for this one. This watch takes a standard watch band; leather bands can be found for under $10. A watch sales/service kiosk at a shopping mall will probably install the band for free if you purchase it from them. At least, around here, that's what they do.

The screw which holds the band to the watch is missing

Specialty screws like this can be hard to find. You can contact watch repair shops to see if they have it or contact Keneth Cole. KC has a great warranty and is generally good about keeping parts as long as the model isnt too old.

Shorten watch band

For this you will need a pair of fine tweezers, a small flat blade screw driver and a lot of patience.

Determine how many links you need to take out by pinching the band while it is on the wrist. Once you know how many you are ready to remove the links.
spread the band and you will see that the very end of the links is tabbed. Be careful and fold down the end of the link with your small screw driver. Be careful not to bend anything. You will then need to turn the band over and bend down the tab of the link on the opposite side but right beside the first tab you bent down. Now you will see how the band is held together. If you look into the two tabs you just bent down you will see a small peice of metal connecting the two links. This is a staple. Pull the staple out with your tweezers.
Now go to the exact opposite side and perform the same task. The band should now be apart where you remove the staples from each side.
Now count down the number of links you want to remove and perform the task again.
*Remember that you must do it the exact same way on each side or the band will not go back together.
Once you have the correct number of links out the band will go back together the same way you took it apart.
When folding down the tabs be sure to use gentle even pressure so you dont over bend them and keep the band from moving freely. I usually find it easiest to use the fla part of the screw driver in a gentle pressing motion.

Remember that this take watch makers and technician a lot of practice. Be patient. If you arent patient or good with very small parts, pop into your local jewlery store for help.

Pin that holds metal band clasp is missing

If it is only the pin that holds the metal band, this is an extremely inexpensive part that is available at most stores that sell watches.

Broken Watch band

you probably just need a pin to secure the links back together. an authorized Movado retailer will have the tension or screw pins to put the band back together. They can also order additional links if needed. you can find a local retailer on www.movado.com
