Potentially related to a low paper amount (25 sheets or so) in the tray. (But I don't have an idea why !!!)

We have many of the 1700N printers and have found that the 2 paper pickup tires must be in good condition to avoid frequent jams. I would highly suggest replacing the 2 paper pickup tires if this printer has a lot of copies on it.You can slip the tires off of the plastic roller and see if they are shiny. If so, replace them.

Removal of paper stuck in a dell 3115 fuser?

It's best to remove the fuser to get access to it. This video will show you how to remove it, and which levers to move to release tension in the pinch roller to clear the jam http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjyggtF8d1k After you remove the jam make sure to do a close inspection on the internal roller (use a flashlight). You're looking for any scratches or "dents" in the colored roller (sometimes a deep red/brown color sometimes blue) if there are scratches you are probably going to have to replace the fuser. The imperfections on the fuser roller will show up on your printed pages. If you do need a new fuser you can find them for $160, or the entire rebuild maintenance kit for $375 http://www.fastprinters.com/productdetails.asp?PRODUCT_ID=DELL-UG190

Paper Jam Fuser 077-104

Most likely you will have to replace the fuser. Also I would inspect all pick up rollers and make sure they are all textured with no smooth or bald spots. Bad rollers are the #1 cause of jams. Also if you hear any clicking you may have a bad gear.

Paper jams in heater

Hello

An overheated fuser is one of the most common causes of a paper jam. When large loads of print jobs are pushed through a printer, the fuser slowly starts to warm up. As the fuser warms up, the heat causes the corners of the printer paper to bend. The hotter the fuser gets, the more the paper bends. Eventually the paper bends so much that it causes the paper to get stuck in the fuser, causing a jam.

If you cannot find any other reason for a continuous printer jam, the problem may be the roller. A cracked roller can easily grab a piece of paper and get it caught. A glazed-over or dirty roller can also cause the paper to get caught on the roller and jam the printer. If the roller is cracked or glazed, you may need to call your print technician or replace the roller.

Printed image repeats later

I have a Dell 5100CN, and believe that this problem is caused by the drum not releasing the full charge which holds the ink in place on the drum until the page is printed. After the image is transfered to the Drum, the 'Fuser' unit heats up the paper and pressure forces the paper against the drum to transfer the toner from the drum to the paper.

Since the Image is printing, and you are getting a ghost, I guess that the problem is most likely the 'Pressure Roller' or 'Heater' in the 'Fuser' unit.

Buying the Fuser unit from Dell could cost you around $200 from Dell, but I just found one on eBay for $129 Got to www.ebay.com and search for item number 190388919845

I highly recommend that you buy a new OEM (original Equipment Manufacturer (Genuine Dell)) 'Fuser Unit'

Good Luck

I have a Lexmark t644 Jamming!

If it jamms passing the fuser you have to check the exit sensor, there are 2 sensor at fuser exit, you can see them taking off the rear cover, one is for paper size and the other is for paper jams, check them both or replace them.

If it jams before the sheet passes the fuser it may a sensor in the black plate under the cartridge, or the pass rollers at the left side of the printer.

Before everythig try cleaning them with an air compressor or with an spray cleaner with isopropilic alcohol.

Hope it helps you...

DELL 1710- PAPER JAM AFTER EXITING PAPER BIN!

Preface; I am a support tech for a major gov't facility and we have hundreds of the Dell printers and PC's.

2 possible solutions. I have seen both. Items can get stuck in the paper path in the guide area, this is just before the pressure roller plate, this is the plastic piece under the fuser roller assy. The rounded plastic piece that guides the paper from the tray into the print area can have paper scraps or objects such as rubber bands, staples or paper clips caught inside of it. This can happen if any of these things get in the paper tray. I just pulled a rubber band out of one of these today.

Many times it is the paper sensor that is located under the pressure roller plate. After you remove the fuser asy you can see a plastic 'finger' that is just right of center in the pressure roller. There is another one a little further in and it is more center line on the 'floor' of the printer.
I have seen these go out with fair regularity. If you remove the paper tray and turn the printer on its side you can find the body of this sensor under the feed roller/arm asy that drops down into the tray to start the feed process. It has some white, plastice type material and wires running out of it. It is held in by a single screw. There is another sensor of the same design located by the pivot point for the feed arm. If the paper gets by the first sensor then stops, it is the second sensor that is out.

OKI c3200 Laser Printer...

There are 3 little black and white rollers under the cover on the back of the printer. They are pushed under the upper rollers. They should be on the outside of the upper rollers. Somehow they got wedged under the upper rollers. This should fix the accordian paper jam.
