I'm getting the same 80-C00DF242 error on a file that is DivX encoded video and MP3 audio. I can play other files that are similarly encoded. The file plays fine through Media Player 11. The XBox360 displays a preview of the file through the Media Blade>Videos>My Videos>Season 1>Episode 01x01.

Thus, I believe that the problem isn't with it not reading the XBox not recognizing the DivX codec. What's going on here?

It means batman is not in a codec the xbox 360 can play, either the video or audio on Batman is unreadable by the xbox 360. I believe the xbox 360 plays divx that use the MP3 codec, otherwise you'll get the message your on about.
The only way I know of getting around this is by converting the video to MP4 file type or wmv, I prefer wmv since that 100% works on the xbox 360 aswell as being able to be uploaded to my ftp so i can watch the videos when not at home. But converting to wmv would be the best option.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Status code 30-80-00

Status Code 30-80-00 is usually an issue with your game disc, not your XBox. That is the good news.

Some XBox games are protected regionally. For example, if you buy a game in the United States and try to play it on a system that was purchased in Russia, the game will not work. Sometimes it won't read the disc (like it did for you), other times it will freeze up in-game.

I am not sure what your purchase history is, but if you purchased either the game or system online this is probably the issue.

Another potential issue is the disc just being faulty. It may not be scratched, but it could be defected in some other way.

My advice is to return the game disc, explain the problem, and get a new copy. Most retailers will accommodate you if you are polite. If they will not process the request, raise a fuss and call customer service.

to make sure Xbox Live runs while your firewall is up, go under your firewall's port settings and open ports 53, 80, and 3074 for Local TCP/IP and ports 53, 88, and 3074 for Local UDP
or just hardwire your xbox so you can update it and avoid that

You have OBD2 technology, to clear the stored codes you need a scan-tool. the cheapest one out there is the actron mini. All it does is read codes, give you the code number, give you the readiness status, and allows you to clear stored codes. It goes for $80. and most part stores carry it.

Leave the file on your PC and use TVersity to index and Transcode ALL your videos to your XBOX360 on the fly. No conversion needed. I have copied all my sons DVDs to my PC (he kept messing em up) now I store the originals as backups and play the movies from his xbox with TVersity
