It's the indicator that it's time for an oil/filter change. I am not sure the procedure to "reset" the light, Sorry.

thats 100% not what your problem is....there isnt an "oil change now dummy light on that vehicle"....you might have a bad oil pressure sending unit...the wires going into your oil pan directly off the unit might have been cut....check that....it has nothing to do with needing to change your oil...that was an almost laughable responce to your question...change your oil....cmon man

I think this indicates you need to change the oil and filter in the engine.

2005 grand Prix oil pressure light an dinging comes on

1. Check your oil level. If oil level is not ok, correct oil level and find out why oil level was low and correct the problem. (Leaks, bad PCV, Burning oil due to severe engine wear, nobody has bothered to check it for the last 3000 miles, WAY overdue for an oil change, etc.) If oil level is ok, proceed to next step.

2. Remove the oil pressure sensor and install a manual oil pressure gauge. Run engine to verify low oil pressure. If gauge shows that the oil pressure is low, overhaul or replace engine. If oil pressure is ok, replace oil pressure sending unit and retest.

2002 Pontiac Grand Prix - multi-fuse related problems. The A/C keeps shorting out and the garage replaces the fuse. Where is the fuse box for the A/C located? Also, the radio display is dim/non existent...

I can't answer because I have other question open, sorry, but here I send any comments and clues to solve (I hope).

For the FUSE PANEL, location and description, I suggest check the 2000-Pontiac-Grand-Prix-Owners-Manual (page 330 and next). A/C have one "diode". Check it.

About your radio display, sound like a internal problem, keep in mind that the CD is working.

The Security Litgh, its possible that you have any problem with the THEFT system or any aftermark alarm (if you have).

Resetting Oil Service Indicator Lights - Pontiac Grand Prix, 1999-03
Driver Information Center If Equipped). Turn the ignition to ON without starting the engine. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds. If the CHANGE OIL Soon indicator flashes two times, the system is resetting. Turn the ignition key to OFF, then start the vehicle.
If the CHANGE OIL SOON indicator comes on and stays on, repeat the procedure. To reset the OIL LIFE indictor if equipped with a Trip Computer: Press the trip MODE button until the light appears next to OIL LIFE. Press and hold the trip RESET button until the oil life percentage changes to be 99 percent.

Hope helps (remember rated this).

Low oil level light

When going around the corner it could have possibly moved the oil far enough away from the level that it's reading was low going around the corner but then getting on to a level surface evened it out. You shouldn't have checked it immediately when you got home. Wait until the engine cools down then check it,

Good Luck...

Low oil light stays on 08 grand prix

Did you check the oil? If it is full, there is something wrong with the sending unit. The oil light is not for oil level but for pressure, it will still read 60 lbs pressure with 1 qt of oil in there. So, if everything checks out, you will need to replace the sending unit, usually found near the filter, sometimes on the pump itself or on the side of the engine, down low, looks like a temp plug with a wire stuck to it. Hope this helps.

How to reset, after changing the oil - to get it off the display

Turn the key to the on position, ( this is when all of the dash lights are on) press on the gas petal three times, ( slowly but within a second of each pressing ) then it should be reset. If you have the read out where the milage is normaly displayed, then where it was saying "change oil soon" will display "oil life reset" after you've done this.

My low oil level light comes on

i presume that motor has a few miles on it. possibly the motor is so worn that it can't maintain a decent oil pressure. quick fix is to add heavier oil which hopefully will last for abit. be careful if you are in a cold climate as the thicker oil will make it harder to crank over in the winter.
