I have an hp dv6700 but it doesnt want to work because when i turn it on it says configured stage 3 of 3 0% complete and it turns off

Here is how you solve this problem...

1. Boot the computer into the "Safe Mode" options by pressing F8 prior the Windows Logo.
2. Select the option "Repair Your Computer"
Note: If you do not have this option, you will need the client's Windows Disc. Once you have that disc, boot into it as if you were to install windows and after you select the language you will get the "Repair Your Computer" option.
3. Now you can get into Command Prompt
4. From the Command Prompt window, navigate to \Windows\winsxs folder
5. Then type: rename pending.xml pending.old.xml
6. Now reboot the PC, you might still see the configuring updates, but this time it will go away.

and walaaa, there you go..

Looks like the post itself fails on the system from what you have told here. Its easy to reset the bios. Download the actual bios flash program on a completely formated usb drive. Fix the usb on your laptop and keep fn+esc keys pressed and switch on the laptop. It will rewrite the bios and once rebooted the system should work. Good Luck.

Please run system restore to an earlier date.

Start system holding down f11 key till you hear a beep then follow the screen instructions.

You have a virus and you can try to booup to a previous restore point. Or reload windows anfd run repair versus a full on installation i9f you want to save your data.

When you start your laptop, press F8. You will get a menu (Normal boot, Reboot...). Choose Last good known configuration (something like that).

If it is windows xp OS plz do the following these step.

start the pc in safe mode and select the administrator login then
go to start programme go to acssories select the system tool- selcet the restore option, turn on windows in previous back day and resloved the porblem,.
