Question about Yamaha YST-MSW10 Computer Speakers

1 Answer

How do I hook up my 2 speakers and subwolfer to my computer.

My sub wolfer has 4 jacks, one in and one out, on line one. Then on line two, there are to jacks... one for the left speaker, and one for the right speaker. And of course, it's own power supply. On the right speaker there is the power supply and one jack for input 1, and one jack for input 2, and one jack that says "to left speaker". and another that says output. On the back of the tower there are two speaker jacks, but I only have three wires. I must be missing the forth. I have more wiring, but not a clue how to make this all work....................HELP!

I hooked up the boston speakers 4 plus wolfer and when I play music on You Tube, the rear speakers don't play. They work in the sound "test." They also work when I set the speakers...

the sound on utube is only stereophonic, hence you will get only stereo putput. If you play anything recorded as quadraphonic or above all your speakers will give sound output.

Dell dimension 5150. Adding Altec Lansing acs410. Two speakers with a sub. Back of speaker has 2 inputs, a sub out, and a transfer line to the other speaker. Why two inputs? Dell has 5 jacks in this...

The speakers have two inputs for two different things, in my case I use the green input for my computer and the white one for my game consoles. You just need a 3.5mm minijack male to male cable to connect between the input on the speaker and the green jack on the computer.

My sub on my creative 4400 4.1 system will not work. All 4 satellite speakers work but the sub will not. I have checked the speaker and it is fine. How can I get it to work?

1 see weather the Jack is connected to the proper socket.
2 If OK then try the Sub with another computer to find out weather it is in working condition.
3 If OK then check the sound software and se correctly configured.

When power supply pluged in the wolfer makes loud noise

Try turning the volume down on your computer or on the woofer itself.

I don't have the left and right speakers only the woofer how many wires to the computer and between speakers

The sub runs off of one jack
Each 2 other speakers run off of one jack.
One jack for every 2 speakers (1 left channel, 1 right channel) except the sub which is by itself.

Speaker hook up

Shari,

It is my hope that I can help. This applies to the type of sound card on your PC.

- If you have a 2-channel sound card: Select 2 on the source selector switch on the subwoofer. Connect the green plug from the audio input cable to tyhe front jack on your PC sound card. With this input setting, your speakers will upmix the 4-channel signal and create a center signal for your speakers.

- If you have a 4-channel sound card: Select '4' on the source selector switch on the subwoofer. Connect the colored jacks on the audio input cable to the jacks on your PC sound card, making sure to match the colors.

- If you have a '6'-channel sound card: Select '5-1' on the source selector switch on the subwoofer. Connect the colored jacks on the audio input cable to the jacks on your PC sound card, making sure to match the colors.

Your sound card is located on the back of your PC Tower.

Good luck
