My screen was shaky nd i visited a engineer and he changed my laptop screen.I later found out that the nvidia geforce i had been using on the old screen was disabled,i enabled it nd restart my laptop and after loading my OS (VISTA) the new screen displayed a black screen while there was sound.I've unistalled and reinstalled my nvidia geforce 9300 over and over again but it keeps up showing a black screen. How can i fix this.U know how limited my video is with default vga drivers(which is what i am using now after disabling my nvidia drivers in safe mode). Finally i am not sure if the new screen is the right screen for my pc.How may i fix this?

If the screen displays an image it is the right screen. The video card, in this case an nvidia geforce 9300, might be defective in which case it would need to be fixed by dell. But it sounds like it could just be an issue with getting the right drivers. The drivers can be found here:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win7-winvista-270.61-whql-driver.html
for 32bit windows vista,

and here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/notebook-win7-winvista-64bit-270.61-whql-driver.html
for 64bit versions of vista.

If you aren't sure if you have a 32 or 64-bit version you can find out by right clicking on "my computer" and going to properties. It will be listed under system type.

Hi, i have acer aspire 4750G. It has 2 graphic cards, an intel HD and nvidia 540M.. currentIy its using the intel HD. I want to know how can I switch it to nvidia?

Heres how... Its normal to have 2(two) display adapters on Acer Aspire 4750G. To enable NVIDIA GeForce, install the Intel HD Family Chipset Driver First from the installation disk that is included on its package, or click here, or if link doesnt work find it here. Then install the NVIDIA GeForce Driver, also included in installation disk, or click here. That should fix it. Enjoy the 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M.

My notebook screen immediately splits into four equal segment when powered

I suppose you must have a Nvidia Graphic Card....
This is a very common problem with nVidia geforce 8400 and 8600 cards.
Serach google with this "Defective Nvidia geforce card" and you will see lots of user facing same problem in HP, Dell etc..

I too have an Hp laptop with nvidia geforce 8400. I have faced similar problems(screen got divided into 8 parts) in past for 3 times. Every time I have to replace my motherboard at HP service center.... It is caused by overheating of laptop that destroys the nvidia graphic card.
Go to the service Center and ask for a motherboard replacement.
hope this will help.....

Graphics Engine, NVIDIA® GeForce®

You can't change the graphics adaptor in a laptop. Having said that, you have an expresscard slot in your laptop, and you can get expresscard video adaptors

Can you suggest an agp 8x video card compatible with a7v880 mobo? thanks! my nvidia fx5200 got busted...

Hello.

Since you have a ASUS A7V880 Motherboard, this means you have a VIA chipset, which does not like ATi Video Cards.

You can only go with Nvidia AGP Video Cards.

Current "Available" Models are

Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 , 5500
Nvidia GeForce 6200, 6600 GS
Nvidia GeForce 7300 GS, 7600GS

The Best Graphic Card available from the Nvidia GeForce series is the 7600GS
