I left the base unpluged all night , then pluged it back in. Same problem. Now what?

  • bcr578 Aug 13, 2008

I contacted the phone company because we had an outeg two days ago and they told me that the "Unden" is the worst phone system that he has known. They are "throw-aways."The base got fried even though I had it on a serg-protector. Everything else I had on that line was okay but the "Uniden" is just a cheap phone. I went to "Best-Buy" and bought a "Panasonic" for just a few pennys more and now have a real phone. Don't waste your money on junk like "Uniden"

Sorry I wasted my money for advice from "FixYa". The "Technical Support Experts" should look into products like these.

Hi,

Pls check if the intercom function works. If yes, then the base is simply waiting for the presence of a dialtone on the telephone line. It would be required to check your telephone wire connections. Further, if you have an extension telephone, pls verify that indeed you have dialtone along the same line. In most instances, you may need to contact your phone provider to verify service.

If no intercom function, it may simply need pairing again or redo the initial install setup.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Have you tried a hard reset. please leave the phone plugged off from wall power for one night and then try starting.

this may start the phone normally and problem will get solved many times.

HEY, Just got DWX207 and it's not working. It's been charging for 48 hrs. and when you pick it up off base it is dead. I did push in the button on base firts. On base it flashes Welcome Please Wait

When you got it do you take the back off to make sure the battery is plugged into the phone? if yes! the phone clearly has a manufacture defect and should be returned.

Phone says ''Welcome ... please wait'' when you try to use it

Hi,

I tried to copy and paste the solution for this issue, but Fixya only allows so many charecters and I guess the answer is too long.
Go to http://www.uniden.com/index/manuals_results.cfm?cat=1

and select the owner's manual for your model phone. Follow the procedures for deregistering the handsets and then resetting the base. then re-register the handsets and you should be good to go. It is all pretty easy, just a little to wordy for this forum I guess.

Uniden DSS7855+1, flashing ''welcome! please wait...'', wont work

This is not a direct solution to your problem, but a workaround for a similar situation. I have two headsets and two charging stations. One of the headsets was stuck with the message ''Welcome! please wait''. When I put the phone on the charging station it usually sits on nothing would happen, but when I put it on the other station the phone came back to life. The non-working charging station will still charge the phone so it is worth keeping.
