When the power is tuned on you can hear tv come on then shut right off ?
mine just started doing this about a month ago. green power light comes on for a few seconds then turns off. But after the 3rd time it stays on. Today is the 1st time it just goes off and never fuly kicks in.. HELP
Quite possibly a defective flyback, as thats the number one problem with that model TV. they are inexspensive and easy to replace. You van get a new flyback at the following link with free instructions on how to install it. You need flyback 259296 for your model. Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

The lamp needs to be replaced. It's on the back and easy to do. I replaced mine about 3 months ago and it was about $182.00. Hope this works, I know it's hard to fork out that kind of money at this time but once you do the TV will be as good as new. Take care
Its correct, Sony is no more selling plasma and I think many companies has already shut plasma production and CRT TV as well. All TV manufacturers are busy in LCD TVs.
your tv's hardware might got the problem. this should fix with an expert technician that they have a tools for fixing this problem. if repairing will cost you alot then i suggest that you have to buy a new tv insted of repairing your old tv. hope that helps!
I have a Samsung HLP5474WX/XAA. The ballast was replace 2 months ago. I just installed the lamp, i notice green flashing occur on the LAMP when i turn it on. The tv takes 10 to 15 second to turn on the picture, the sound as soon as i power up i can hear it. Any advice??
check the wires inside at the left lower region as you are looking at the rear. There are several circuit boards there that tend to loosen when moved. The cables are really ribbons like those used in computers. I'd lioke to be more specific however I'm not entirely familiar with this model, just rear projection tvs in general.
