Tuner is designed for windows xp/vista but i have system running windows 7 and the tuner driver cannot intall correctly. i need updated driver that can run on windows 7. Thanks

Hi,

Your computer Gateway GM5632e was designed for Windows XP and Vista. You may be successful installing Windows 7 Ultimate on this computer but you will have difficulties finding the right driver for the TV Tuner which was developed and manufactured by Gateway themselves. As always, drivers and sofrwares are limited from the manufacturers release. On the other hand, Windows Vista 64bit has having some issues with its updates. Windows Vista 32bit version can only work if your installer has service pack 1 with it. I suggest, have Windows XP install on your computer as it is stable comparable to the performance of Windows 7. It may not look like Window 7 but surely, Windows XP can still maximize your computer's capability.

Try the vista or xp drivers. Vista drivers often work for many devices in windows 7. The xp driver may work too.

windows 7 should show optional updates for it if fitted.

It's a problem for us to assume since you didn't mention the Operating System installed on the Acer Aspire... moreover there are two types of tv tuner card that comes with this model. I hope you'll not mind letting us know all these next time so that we can help you better.

i have recently bought an Intex Gravity USB TV tuner box. It uses Honestech TVR 2.5 as its main software. I am using Windows 7 on my lenovo Laptop.
The dealer had assured that TVR 2.5 is compatible with Window 7. .but after installing i am only getting s-video icon ,tv and fm radio options never geting on...please help me

I'm not familiar with your tv card but it may not work in Vista or Windows 7. Usually you have to check hardware requirements and compatibility on the box. And try to by something from known brands like Hauppauge, AVerMedia, Leadtek, Pinnacle
Most of their new models will work on Vista and Windows7.
You can try to install and run it's software in Compatibility mode as on XP. And run it as Administrator. If it wont help return your card if you can.

Windows Vista is still behind providing drivers for tv tunners....unless you buy new ones designed for vista. If you had your tv tuner for xp and it worked fine on that operating system than I am afraid that you are going to have to buy a new one for vista.

How ever you may find that microsoft or the third part supplier may be on the process of supplying software for your tv tunner.

Please let me know what happens woth you... I would be grateful to if you could let me have the serial number and the model number so that I can do research for you and try and help you out.

u may try this....i once have the same problem,around nov 2007 this was after vista updated some driver(keytouch,audio),my tuner stop working,so i go to the hp webpage and i downloaded the drivers for my laptop,after i reinstall the drivers my tv tuner start working again,and it is still working,got 13 digital channels working +22 analog all broadcast,i configure the vista update not to autoupdate but to tellme updates are available,then install the available updates except the ones that are drivers,u may try with the original drivers that are on the Hp/drivers folder.YMMV.
