You might try plugging it back into your computer, and formatting it. If you don't know how to do that, pull up the screen right BEFORE you would open it to copy music to it, right click on the flash drive, and click format. Format it with whatever the default format is shown (probably FAT32) and then copy your music back onto it. If that doesn't work, let me know.

SanDisk Cruzer Micro 4GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive My Drive is Empty How Do I Get U3Smart The Drive To Factory Settings. My Model is SDCZ6-4096A10 SN# BH0701l5B

According to Scandisk:

As of October 1st 2009, SanDisk started shipping the Cruzer Micro (SDCZ6-XXX) product line without the U3 software pre-installed on the device.

During the transition period, there may have been a small number of devices that were packaged in older packaging that states the device includes the U3 software. If you purchased one of these devices and would like to use the U3 software, please download and install it.

When I plug my new SanDisk 2GB Cruzer USB 2.0 Flash Drive into my computer, it says the drive is read only- How can I fix this?

If this is the U3 SanDisk Cruzer....U3 drives present themselves as two devices. One of them appears as a read-only CD drive that contains all the **** programs and the other is the writeable USB stick part. It comes with two partitions on it, one for data, and the other called "U3 Partition" which is read-only.

Sandisk u3 cruzer micro usb device 16gb is not getting installed

My dear! first install software only without attaching USB when your USB required the software or driver then attach it or if your software does not required USB attach during installation, you have to attach it after the installing software. May it require reboot your system. Now your USB sandisk u3 cruzer micro device will work.

2. Format

(WARNING: After running this low level format tool,
the whole USB flash disk surface will be fully erased.
Therefore, data restoration will be impossible after using this utility!)

We can fix it -- and recover the data (provided it is recoverable -- which it generally is). If we don't get your data back, we ship the drive back to you and you pay nothing. We've been recovering data for over 16 years and are successful about 85% of the time.

I have a MacBook OS 10.4.11. How do I erase the pictures that I've put on my SanDisk 2.0 micro cruzer?

Hi,
Is your Sandisk Micro USB enabled with password on U3 (a program to install programs on the go, for more information go to www.u3.com)? If it is, go to a Windows machine and disable the password. Then format your drive.
hope this helps!

Sandisk flash drive

Is the account that your tying to access the drive with an Administrator account? If not, Log in as Administrator and try to access the new drive. If you ARE using Administrator privileges on the vista machine, the problem lies in the U3 smart driver. Try downloading and installing the drivers for the XP SP2 os on scan disks website, If vista rejects the install package off of the scan disk website, let me know and i'll extract the drivers and build an install for them for you.
