Faulty HD- LCD - LED TV - Horizontal Lines STRIPS on the picture SOLVED .... I just have one black line ...
It sounds like you cracked the screen. If it is cracked, you cannot fix it. Your only options are to replace the screen (BIG $$$) or buy a new set. If you can email me a pic of the TV I can tell you for sure if the screen is cracked. LCD screen are very thin, about as thick as a dime and it doesn't take much to crack them.
there seems to be a problem in the horizontal circuit...there is a control on the flyback transformer that is labeled "screen". (you'll have to take the back off) The flyback is the component that looks sort of round with the red high voltage lead coming out the top and connecting to the top of the picture tube.On the back of the flyback there will be 2 or 3 controls if 2 there will be 1 focus and 1 screen, if 3 there are 2 focus and 1 screen..using an insulated flat blade screwdriver, slowly turn the screen control counterclockwise to see if this will make the lines go away...if not then there is a horizontal cicuit fault and quit possibly a pincushion problem(hourglass effect)..these will need to be checked by a service shop
If the coloured lines are in the edges, then there is absolutely no problem and it should not be visible from a viewing range of 1.5 meters and further. If the lines are in the middle of the screen, then your phosphor coating (the screen) is burnt. you need to buy a new one, since burnt screens are not repairable.
I want to know the possible cause of tv with 2 black line at the top and bottom of the screen. Is it have the same causes even if the tv model is not the same..thanks
May be the same problem Magnavox is having with their 27MF231d. I found the fix on this site and it took care of the same problem with my set. Not the easiest thing to do, but it worked. If you do not know how to solder, get some help with this one. If you take it to a Magnavox Authorized repair location, they will just replace the bad capacitor with another bad capacitor of the same type and voltage. The problem is they have a 25w capacitor where a 35w capacitor should be. Mine was bulging, with black tar looking stuff coming out of it. It was obviously bad. Follw the instructions below.
