2ooo Ford Mustang,Got MP538U TUNER work. cd look like it was playin no sound though.Exchanged it for MP638u.SAME BULL. cAR GOT ripped out mach system. Carstereo wires without harness

Hi,

If you are wiring a Kenwood KDC-MP638U to a 2000 Ford Mustang, then below information may be of help:
  • to my knowledge, the original stereo unit uses 2 8pin connector and a single 7 pin connector;
  • if the connector with the harness has been cut, then wire splicing may have to be used based below;
4033d2e.jpg
  • If you are using external amplifiers, then it is possible to trigger/switch them with the blue/white wire and their RCA INputs connected to the appropriate RCA OUTputs of the Kenwood;

  • Additionally, the KDC-MP638U has built-in USB port/interface.
  • Incidentally, if what was previously installed is a full Mach system, pls be informed that there are seven (7) versions from Mach 1000.0 to Mach 1000.7, which one was installed?
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I have a 2000 Ford Fiesta and I can't seem to be able to remove the standard stereo, I have tried with wire coat hangers but I can't get it out....

You will need to go down to your local auto parts store and invest five U.S.dollars to get a set of Ford radio removal tools.These have a u-shape on them and a nipple on each end of the u-shape to hold the lock/unlock tabs in place.You simply press these into the holes on the radio, then pull the radio out with ease.Wire coat hangers simply won't do the trick.I hope I could help, Rate me accordingly, Thanks.

I have a 2000 Alpine CHM-S620 CD Changer that I wanna put in my 99 Ford Escort But the Wire is VERY different, what can I do? It came with a HONDA connection but I have a Ford, That might just be my...

Hello nicholsanche,

The only 1999 Ford Escort that I could locate was the ZX2.

What you need is a "wiring harness". The Scosche catalog shows their number Scosche FD16B / FD16 for 1998 and up Ford vehicles. Here is a link to the Scosche product:

Metra also makes wiring harnesses and you can purchase them from www.crutchfield.com. At either Crutchfield or SonicElectronix, you can talk to an audio technician who can look up exactly what harness your vehicle requires. You'll also need some connectors to splice the wiring from your Alpine to the wiring harness. Crutchfield and SonicElectronix sells them also, or you can get them from your local Radio Shack, Lowe's, or even WalMart

You will also need to know the color coding of the vehicle wires. Go here for the '99 Ford Escort.

Hope this helps.
