Tv guide no info - Sony Televison & Video

The TV will not have a guide build in unless you have cable box or satellite receiver to provide the program information.

I had that problem too. I found this answer and followed the instructions and fixed it.

if you are programming a TV Guide type function yes.
The info is downloaded twice daily, around 2:10 pm EST and 2:10 am EST from your local PBS station.
The TV will wait for that down load before it gives any info in the TV GUIDE.

You're cable company may have quit using TV Guide info from "TV Guide", because they want you to get their box for this info, or to save expense. It happened here in Michigan about a year ago. If you have local ABC, NBC, and PBS stations, you can get this info downloaded nightly through an external "over-the-air" antenna.-- assuming you're in the U.S.

Sounds like a software corruption in the TV. Most of the late 2000 flat panel TV have upgradeable software that can be downloaded by USB memory stick. Check the LG web site for software upgrades. This should be a free download by LG.

Have you tried powercycling your box? Checking all the connections making sure they are tight fitting? The guide should always load no matter what.

Solution

TV Guide information comes from the Host Station.

1. If no information on some channels or incorrect information not TV issue, but station not giving any information or incorrect information.

2. If grid comes up, but no TV Guide Info could be
siginal issue.

3. Double stations showing up. Unfortunately double listing is the way it's going to be. They have to send out all possible OTA listings for the area. You can hide the channels that you are not getting.

In order to receive the TV's Guide system, the cable should be connected directly to the TV instead of the cable box if you are still using it.
How do you have the cable box connected to the TV?

this is a softwar issue which should be fixed, are you in AK????
