Question about Pioneer Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I have a Pioneer AVIC-N3. My "hide-away" unit got wet. Now the system will not turn on at all. I have dried it all out, and taken everything apart. I verify that I have 12v at the deck, but no power going to the hideaway. is there a fuse I am missing or an internal reset?

Thank you. I spent a little more time working on it, still have not found a fuse. Where might it be located?

I did get the unit to turn back on by drying it out and pushing the reset. I get all the blue lights to light up and the touch screen opens, but nothing more.

    Any help?

Ok, lights on but nothing happening. Thoughts?

What is the best way to verify? dealer? or should I simply look into an aftermarket hide-away unit?

Yes there is a fuse in there that is missing but if it got wet enough to make it shut off then more likely the circuit shorted out...

yeah that board is shorted out, cause if its only doing that much and nothing else then its on its last leg, now it might be able to dry out more and more and then possible work, but i dont think it will make a difference...

The fuse should be right in the center, a lil round glass type fuse, unless there is a mini fuse on the very back of the unit...

AVIC-N3

Hi check your navigation disc for dust, dirt, damage.
if disc is good, you might like to try running a dvd cleaner in the unit, the avic has a fan that sucks in dust from the car, and this coates the cd lens.

we can service the unit for £45.00 plus return postage @ £10.00 (uk mainland)

Pioneer avic n1 video by pass but now doesnt work when i upgraded w n3 disc

I am pretty sure that pioneer does this so you cant bypass it. The n1, you just have to ground the parking brake wire, the n2 you have to solder the 2 points together under the piece of tape, the n3 you have to move over the switch on the side of the unit. Which all of these void your warranty anyway but I think that is why people eventually downgrade the the old dvds.
