Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

Odd song When my sansa crashed, I took out the battery and put it back in. The screwdriver was slightly mangnetized and I don't know if this has anything to do with the problem but some tracks were deleted. However, there was a track that duplicated itself under a slightly different name, but when I play it, my sansa says BAD TRACK. When I syncronize with my computer, it doesn't detect either songs. How do I delete it?

I went to http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1468 and went to #2, watched the video and followed it.

Cannot get music on or off of MP3 player.


The 260 you can remove the screws on back cover and remove the battery and replace to reset, not sure on the 250, you might also want to go their website and download the latest firmware updates.

Songs dissapeared!


Several things. 1. To correctly reset it, flip the lock button, then hold down the power button. 2. Format your sansa. Make sure you have all your stuff off. Then, format it. If you don't know how, e-mail me here : spazzysmash@gmail.com Then sync it back on!

My Sansa e260 Crashed. Boom. (Minus the sound effects)


Substitute REC for volume + in the following: (if it comes to that)
Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

Sansa wont turn on


I fixed mine! I removed the four screws on the back with an eyeglasses repair kit and then took out the battery and waited a few seconds then put it back in and now it turns on and i didnt lose any songs or anything!

Try this, I bet it might work. And the battery is the big white thing that looks like, well, a battery. its really obvious.

Sansa e250R is frozen, and no solutions work


I had this problem once. I unscrewed the back with an eye glasses screwdriver, took out the battery and replaced it and that took care of it.

I had the same problem with mine freezing. It happened when I kept pressing the back track button (on left side) to go back to an earlier song. It then froze in the middle of a song, couldn't hear the song, the time of the song was frozen, etc., and the unit stayed lit, despite pressing all the buttons. I tried holding down power but nothing happened. I read another person's post that you need to hold it down 15-30 seconds. I did this and it worked, you just have to hold it down until it shuts down, which was about 15 seconds as suggested, could be longer for others.
For me, next time I wont keep clicking the tracks repeatedly, I'll simply go out of the song and back to the song I want through the menu.

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.
