When i power on emachine t6410... pc attempts to power up but stops after a 1/2 second and only the power button blinks continuosly... what gives?

It sounds like it could be a hardware failure. Most emachines that I have dealt with have a motherboard failure within the first few years. They tend to put cheap hardware in their computers that works well for a little while but ultimately fails.

Kindly perform the below steps:
- Remove the battery and Power adapter
- Press and hold the power button for 30-45 seconds (with battery and power still removed)
- Insert just the battery and attempt to boot the laptop.

After the laptop booted go to the eMachine/Gateway Support site and download the webcam driver and software.

A hard reset means that you press the reset button that is next to the power button on the computer case, as opposed to a software reboot, start > restart.

Need replacement wires for a emachine T6410 for the power switch and the led lights

T6410 EMACHINE TRYING TO CONNECT START BUTTON

The motherboard in your computer is an MSI MS-7145, which is also called RS480M. You can download a copy of the manual here. The front panel connections are on page 2-20.

Looking at the header JFP1, pins 1 through 9 (odd numbers) are the front row, pins 2 through 10 are the back. Pin 10 is the missing pin. The power switch connects to pins 6 and 8. The power LED connects to pins 2 and 4. The HDD LED connects to pins 1 and 3. The reset button, if used, connects to pins 5 and 7.

T6410 delay in booting.

Which program do you have booting on start up. Do have Nortons, or any other AntiVirus, Firewall or Spyware softare installed> when did this problem start? Did you make any changes to your hardware...uninstall any important .dll files?

ok " here is what i would do , un plug the power to hardware one by one, and restart computer, after each unplug
