About how old is the laptop? A common occurrence in older model laptops is the charge port becoming dislodged from the internal motherboard. The only real option you have, if this is the case, would be to back up your data with an external hard drive, and buy a new machine. If you do not have an external hard drive, but have access to another computer, then there is another option for data backup. Remove the hard drive from the laptop, buy an external enclosure (You can buy enclosures from your local Best Buy, MicroCenter, or electronics store) that fits your hard drive model, and transfer the data to the extra computer you CAN access.

However; if the laptop is fairly new, and the charge port doesn't wiggle or move at all (An indication of the piece becoming dislodged), then the problem could lie in the power adapter itself. Try purchasing a notebook AC adapter from an online site like Newegg.com or TigerDirect.com. They come with multiple attachments to fit a plethora of different devices, including a wide range of laptops

Laptop won't switch on although blue power light on is showing power is getting to the machine

Check the power adaptor led is not flashing. Flashing Adaptor LED indicates fault with laptop charging circuit / powerboard

If it will not boot on battery, and you know the adaptor to be good, the issue lies with the motherboard.
Sometimes, removing the battery, and unplugging, pressing the power button and holding it for 30 secs, replacing the adaptor only will allow it to boot up, but this will only work if the motherboard is not damaged r the CPU fan has not failed.

When i go to charge my kodak M863 camera (in the wall or by USB) the green light flashes and then the red light blinks 3 times. please help this is the first time charging my camera.

You can used the USB cable to charged the camera, But some of the M863 camera will not take charged usign the USB cable., I strongy suggest used the AC adaptor just make sure the AC adaptor is 5V ac adaptor it will only charged using the 5V adaptor., About the flashing green it indicates camera is charging just wait for the solid green light it means it fully charged

You may purchased also a special charger for your battery(KLIC-7001)- cahrer model is K8600-C. i think the price of this charger is around $29.00

Ac adapter will not charge my computer

If the laptop will run from the adaptor, then the adaptor is probably fine. That being the case, if the charge light flashes when the adaptor is plugged in, the battery is faulty. No charge light on an otherwise working system is probably the battery charging circuit in the laptop.

My sanyo vpc-hd700 will not turn on because the red light will flash but the camera won't turn on.

Your AC adaptor has very likely failed.
Check the AC adaptor on your camera.  Mine failed this morning after only 2 days of ownership. (I just purchased an Xacti HD2000 camera 02/05/09)
The Bad P/N I had was a Sanyo VAR-G9.  Based on my very light use after two days, I expect these are totally trashy power adaptors and there are likely several hundred bad ones like it in the field  Thats just a wild guess on my part, but after only two days, a unit like this should not fail at all.
The camera said "Low Battery", then could not be charged, then only the red light would flash.
I confirmed with a Digital Volt Meter that there was no 5.0V coming out of the AC/DC converter.
Radio Shack sells (and I bought) a replacement 5.0V 2.0A capable power adaptor.   Take your unit in and they can help you.  Make sure that you don't have any little children that may play with the voltage switch on the replacement, as any voltage over 5.0V can damage your camera.
With the replacement unit, my camera charges fine.

Lap top problem

Hi

If the AC power light is blinking, try the following steps:

1 Cut off power to the computer by disconnecting the AC adaptor and removing the battery. The error condition will be interrupted, and the AC power light will stop flashing.

2 Put the battery back into the computer. Do not connect the AC adaptor. Try turning the computer on again. If the computer starts normally, the AC adaptor may be
defective and will need to be replaced. If the AC power light starts flashing, remove the battery, and continue with the steps below.

3 Connect the AC adaptor to the computer. Leave the battery out of the computer. Try turning the computer on again. If the computer starts normally, the battery may need charging, may be depleted, or may be defective. Turn the computer on, insert the battery, and then leave the computer running for several hours, which will deliver a slow, steady “trickle-charge” to the battery. Once the battery has been trickle-charged, it may begin working correctly again. If the trickle-charging does not prove effective, consider replacing the battery with a new one.

4 Connect the AC adaptor to a different power outlet, preferably in a different room. If the computer starts normally, there may be a problem with the AC outlet itself, or the voltage level available from it.

5 Verify that the AC adaptor is the correct unit for your computer model. The computer may not be able to start from an AC adaptor that is rated for less current (amperage) than the computer requires, even if the rated voltage is correct, and the plug fits correctly in the DC-IN socket. The labels on the bottom of the computer and the AC adaptor show the specifications for voltage ("V") and current ("A") for each device. The voltage level must match exactly. The amperage rating of the AC adaptor must be equal to or greater than that required by the computer

Regards
Mike
