No power, power indicator led won't lit.

Hello

That means that you have a problem with the power of your unit check the power adopter by a voltmeter if there is a 5 volts output if no voltage detected check the power source where your adopter is plugged. If there is an AC output on the outlet, check the output wire of the adopter. If the wire of the adopter have no problem on the connection check the socket where the output of the adopter is being inserted try to squeeze it while the adopter is being plugged to the AC. If the problem is still there look at the sticker of your unit if under warranty, if under warranty return it to the store where you buy it to avail the free service warranty. But if not under warranty you can fix it if you have a little knowledge in electronics. Because there is an internal damage on your unit either the power adopter of the unit or inside the unit.

If the adopter is only the problem you can open it by removing the one screw on the back of the adopter. See to it that the adopter is unplugged, then check the fuse of the adopter it is a small tube like component you can test it by a multi tester if there is a continuity it means the fuse is not busted but if no continuity it means you have to replace it with the same value. The second one is if there is a bulge capacitor. It means that if there is a capacitor that change there original shape, sometimes it blow sometime it just pop on the top of. Replace if there is a capacitor with look like that, Replace it with the value in farrad and in volts.

Hope this solution will help you

Lost or misplaced power supply for Beyond Micro Micro Model BMMDU2 External hard Drive. Need info on Wattage input. Please and Thanks if you're able to hrlp.

Well, looks like Beyond Mico web site has gone to the great Beyond.

From units I have been able to find online, it looks like the power supply is between 20 and 40 watts.

The hard drive unit itself should be able to supply you with the required DC input voltage (hopefully there is some kind of label on the enclosure).

You could try one of these or something similar. It comes with 6 interchangeable heads and has adjustable DC voltage. This is just one of many available.

http://www.amazon.com/Hosa-ACD477-100-240V-Voltage-Adaptor/dp/B000Z31G3M

I cannot guarentee any of these supplied heads will fit your particular drive (same with the dc voltage). But some local retailers often have these types of adapters and you might be able to determine what size you need by looking at one.

I have used DC units similar to these in the past when I have lost a power supply.

Hopefully with a minimum of effort you can get a working solution.

I don't know which power adapter to use and I can't locate my user manual. What is the DC input? My problkem is I need to make sure I provide the right DC input - I have several adapters - what is the...

Hi,

Most externals are 12v input voltage so as long as you have a adapter with this input voltage your be fine, and the hard drive should operate.

Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks

I lost the power supply to my EZ1600-S while moving house. I need to know the output voltage of the external power supply so that I can replace it

There should be some hint of power output on the transformer or power requirement on the device. Please give a look on the device. I understand you cannot look at the transformer, it is lost.

It appears the company that manufactured your device is out of business. If you cant find the power requirement, its time to replace your device.
