With this kind of problem mentioning two things can happened: (1) At times due to stiffness of the rail which hinder the movement of the scanning unit from the initialisation stage to the copying stage at times when duly checked after pressing print button you will noticed that the scanner unit does't move thereby there will be only picking of the paper either from the cassette or bye-pass unit sure the signals which are supposed to be transferred from the LSU to OPC unit will not be occur. so, in this sense you should be expectin total blank copy frtom the so-called copier.
