Are you getting any error messages when faxing? Have you sent a fax successfully before? Make sure the printer is connected to the correct active phone line in the wall and the telephone cord is plugged into the LINE port of the printer. If problem is more of signal quality, try to lower the transmission speed to 9600 bps. Press the Fax button, then press Options15 times to get to ADVANCED FAX. Press Select. Press Options ten times until MAX SEND SPEED appears on the LCD display. Change it to 9600 BPS using the - (left arrow) button. Press Select.
Please follow the steps given below: 1. Press "Fax Mode" button. 2. Press "Menu" button. 3. Use the "Down Arrow" till the display reads "Maintenance." 4. Press "Select." 5. Use the "Down Arrow" buttons till the display reads "Reset Defaults." 6. Press key pad "1." 7. Press "Select." Please let us know the results.
Try Connecting the Lexmark All-in-One directly to the phone port...but make sure that Do NOT connect any phones to the EXT port. Make sure the Fax receive mode is set to answer the fax after 3 rings. (Press the Fax button on the operator panel and then press Options three times until ANSWER FAX WHEN is displayed. Change the settings using the - or + buttons as appropriate.) If this does not work then do get back for any further help. Thanks
Is this fax line shared with the phone? I believe there is a distictive ring setting in the add'l functions area under communication settings then receive settings. you would need to select a ring pattern different so the fax can tell between which types of calls it is receiving.
There are sensors in the document feeder that detect the width and length of the paper being copied or faxed. Try getting a can of compressed air and go nuts blowing all the dust out of the feeder, if you spray everything you can get to, you will probably blow clean the sensors. Just an educated guess.
