I am sending you all the possibilities for your problem, check either of these causes ----and than let me know if it is solved----

Power from the house
Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element
Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse
On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring
A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

Hello,
If what your seeing is that the flame starts out and goes off and a few later later the igniter glows but no flame??? then the cause of that is going to be the coils on the gas valve are weak and not opening. This tip i wrote explains what is wrong when a gas dryer starts heating but after a while wont heat. http://www.fixya.com/support/r10174506-gas_dryer_starts_off_hot_but_after_while

I have a Kenmore gas dryer Model 74812200. It is no longer heating up. When I turn it on, I hear a clicking sound for about 30 seconds then it goes off. Then about a minute later I hear the clicking sound...

You would not hear the click if the ignitor was bad. It won't click until the flame sensor get heated up by the ignitor. So that tells me the thermal fuse ain't melted. I would say them coils on the gas valve are the problem. themobilian_2943.jpg

I have a Kenmore dryer that is 4 years old, very basic model, and it heats only part of the time. At times when it is running there is a gas smell, no heat. Other times just the fan blows with no heat or...

The thermocouple may be going bad. The thermocouple is what "tells" the control unit that there is a flame. If it doesn't send it's signal, the control thinks the flame went out and shuts off the gas to prevent an explosion.

Kenmore Gas Dryer Model 75731 Dryer Won't Heat

The orange glow is the ignitor. If the ignitor is glowing but the gas does not light then the flame sensor may have to be replaced. If the gas ignites but does not stay on either the flame sensor or the coils are at fault.

It's either a ignitor or the gas valve. Is this something that you could work on?
