I AM HAVING TROUBLE SETTING THE DECIMAL SO WHEN I PUNCH IN 2502 IT COMES OUT AS 25.02

Have you tried messing around with the decimal setting and setting if to F (floating) or somethings besides 2? This should affect your inputting of numbers however. You're not hitting the percent key (%) by any chance, are you. I don't have this calculator but I'm not aware of any function that inserts a decimal point in a number that you enter (other than the percent key). The decimal setting should only affect the number of decimal points in the answer. Good luck and let us know how you make out. I'm curious.

Default decimal settings

Your BA II PLUS stores numeric values internally to an accuracy of 13 digits. However, the numbers it displays depends on the number of decimal places to which you have it set (choice of 0–9 or floating decimal). To set the number of decimal places displayed to three: hit [2ND][FORMAT][3][ENTER]This setting also continues indefinitely (even though the calculator is turned off and on) until it is changed.

SETTING UP THE DECIMAL ON NEW 210 TM

Set the +43210F switch to + (or 2).
On some models it is A43210F, then use A (or 2).
+ mode will let you enter numbers (monetary) without the decimal point and assumes cents; 2 mode will just round to 2 decimals, but you must enter the decimal.
